Italian Exotic Sighting!

I went out to run some errands this afternoon around three, easy Sunday stuff like getting my hair cut, washing the car, and picking up some stuff to make Arnold Palmers at the supermarket. It's a pretty typical late-summer Southern California afternoon, the wind blowing in off the ocean, sun filtered by a few scattered clouds ( Read more... )

haha. I came to this after leaving a disparaging comment about Espadas in your more current post.

Maybe it's one of those cars I'd have to see in real life to appreciate.

On saturday, I shared 94 to milwaukee with 2 F430s a new GT(in the blue/orange gulf livery)and one of the new GT500s. Definitely not as cool as their vintage forbearers, but the sound of a ferrari v8 above 8000 rpm gives me wood.

Boy, and I get excited when I see a DeLorean. I have no idea what I would do if I saw that monster!

I never knew they make an inline-5, either! Sheesh.

You know, I had enough money to buy a DeLorean when I got back from Iraq (I basically saved everything I earned over there, minus about three grand for student loans). I looked at a couple DeLoreans and an early Eighties Lotus Esprit, like the one in View To A Kill.

Of course, we know the end of the story. I don't have a DeLorean, mostly because my stepdad was so sick of working on the Douvrin V6 (an engine developed and shared by Peugeot, Renault and Volvo, and licsensed by DeLorean) that he refused to work on a DeLorean if I got it.

That pretty much sealed the deal. After months and months of looking for a car I was pretty tired of not having any wheels. I got my 850 Turbo instead, which has a way better engine than the DeLorean, but less of the cachet.

Yeah, I've heard nothing but bad things about that French V6, but ...

"The way I figure, if you're gonna make a time machine, why not do it with some style?"

Yeah. I still have some buyer's remorse. Especially when I think about taking uisinger for a ride in the country on a nice fall day. The DeLorean just fits right into the picture.
