Patrick had told Brooke he'd pick her up from the airport, and if her flight was on time, she should have landed not that long ago. He was mere minutes from the airport, so he called her--she was on his speed-dial--to see if the flight had indeed arrived on time, and to let her know he was almost there.

It took a few rings, but eventually Brooke picked up. "Hey sexy," she said as she picked up, speaking a little louder than normal since the airport was pretty loud. "I'm getting my luggage right now, so I'll be out in a few minutes."

"Well, hey gorgeous," he responded, glad to hear she was safely on the ground. "Just parkin' the car outside now. I'll be waitin' by the curb." It was good to hear her voice, even better to know she was here.

"Perfect timing," she said, excited that he was that close. She had to bite her tongue to keep from saying 'I can't wait to see you' since he was literally just outside, but she wanted to say it. Instead, she went with, "I'll see you soon." Then she hung up and slipped her phone back into her purse before heading towards the doors, luggage in tow.

He got out of the car, his heart pounding with anticipation. Trying to appear casual, he leaned against the hood and crossed his arms until he spotted her, and then moved to help her with her luggage. He kissed her cheek by way of a greeting. "Hey, kitten."
