Today is your birthday? Happy Birthday!! Like your friend said.. treat yourself to something good. I myself would be partial to the places that sell plates of sushi for 150 yen each. Or maybe go out and get a nice bottle of sake or plum wine and drink with friends.
If I get into the JET short list, I would be leaving very close to my birthday, July 28th. Would be one heck of a birthday present. :) I hear birthdays are not really as big a deal over in Japan as they are in the states.
Happy birthday! I spent mine working and then having a BOE enkai (December 13). Oh well. It was fun and we went to karaoke afterwards. I hope you get to have a party of your own, though. Sounds like you've already been spending your day wisely ;)
...meanwhile, your present STILL has not arrived *growwwrrrr* and I can therefore still not send it out to you yet. It's ok though, I am accumulating stuffs in the meantime.
