I didn't have a lot of info until the last minute because my boss at the board of ed is relatively new and he didn't know what exactly he was supposed to tell me... so I didn't know I would be teaching kids as young as 4 until I got to my prefecture haha. Oh well. I'd rather teach at the kindergarten than junior high level. But that's just me personally. Japanese kids have extra cuteness genes.
Those shoes look fine. Hopefully they are comfortable. Mine are pretty darn comfy and it helps. A lot of the teachers wear athletic shoes or sandals so you should be fine with those.
Yeah, when I went over there on sister city exchanges I saw the American that was teaching English had white sneakers. I personally loathe white sneakers, but I figured there would be no problem with black and minimal detail. And velcro. Meanwhile, I hope no one cares if what I *walk* to school in is my beloved old pair of Doc Martens. ^^; Anyway, the sneakers are Vans and I've had several pair of those before and love them. I just have to add some arch support and i'm good. XD
Yeah, working with little kids would rock. They're so much more fun than adults or teenagers. XD
