Word. Also, out of solid cast in three weeks? Too soon, and much too soon to be driving and punching people.

I absolutely thought the same thing. He had a compound fracture and already out of the cast? Um, no.

That was kind of crazy. Not to mention, the inconsistent limp. Unhealed fracture! BIG LIMP!

That's exactly what I was thinking about letting the kid go. How does it make sense? If he's ridding the world of evil, he might as well have finished it you know?

And yes, I don't like him going behind his back.

But like mickeym says, hopefully things even out soon?

hey, so question that i was thinking about

Were Dean and John following a different kitsuna or whatever they're called? And did Sam happen to fall upon another one? Do you have any clue? haha

John and Dean were following the one Sam found. The mother mentioned she had been spotted by a couple of hunters in a black Impala, so it pretty much had to be John and Dean. Apparently she did her hunting and killing away from where she lived, very smart.

I think what percysowner said, above, is right - they were following Amy's mom, and Sam was making out with Amy. QUITE A COINCIDENCE. Sigh.

I think Jensen directed this episode beautifully, and all the acting was spot on. However, I am in complete agreement with how much of a bad taste the ending left in my mouth. I also felt that the episode was horribly incongruent with where I thought the characters were at this point in time, and that it was, in many ways, a complete throwback to seasons 1 and 2. I spend a long time trying to process this episode and make some sense out it, since it was so at odds with itself (and yes what was the point of letting the baby creature go if you are going to ice the mom?). The only resolution I could really come up with is that: Dean is WAY more fucked-up then anybody suspects. I think he is at odds with himself, and is imposing this inner conflict back out onto the physical world (I honestly think that whole crappy "I'm an expert....you can't fight your nature forever" speech was really directed more at himself than at Kitsune lady ( ... )

Dean is waiting for Sam to, metaphorically, blow up in his face, and how sad is that?

I've been thinking about this since Cas took the "wall" down at the end of S6. Sam...is NO DIFFERENT from any other person who is experiencing extreme PTSD. It's not like when he was consuming demon blood. This is not the 'dark side of Sam' coming forward. This has nothing to do with his destiny.

Thinking back on it, Dean has been waiting for Sam to (metaphorically) blow up in his face since John whispered into his ear at the beginning of S2.

Given how many people deal every single day with mental illness of some sort, you would think based on that alone, that Dean would cut Sam a little slack and give him props for not only being upright, but fairly high-level functioning (taking on a hunt himself? Dude.).

(Sorry for hi-jacking your journal, Des.)

I would totally watch a spinoff show called "The Adventures of Young Sammy" starring Colin Ford. I just adore that kid.

I agree with your post, loved the directing, loved 99% of the story, until the end. I fully expected Dean to go and kill the monster, but I honestly expected him to kill both of them. It made no sense for him to let the kid go.

And I would have preferred Dean be honest with Sam, too.
