Miscellanous interesting stuff (lots of vid recs)

Bullet points! Sorry, not up to writing connecting narrative.

* For those of you who have been as interested in the current late night shenanigans as I have, but who lack context from the first go-round of Jay Leno snatching the Tonight Show job from Letterman a couple decades ago, here is video of Letterman's appearance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson just after Leno was tapped. Includes Johnny hilariously asking Letterman, "So, just how pissed off are you?", and Letterman making a couple eerily prophetic statements about the situation. Also, if you haven't been watching the hilarity that is Kimmel, O'Brien, and Letterman all doing their level best to eviscerate Jay Leno nightly, which I totally approve of, Gawker is doing a nightly recap, complete with numerous clips of all the best bits from each show. I'm kind of hopeful Letterman will show up on Conan tonight in some way to crack on Leno. Oh yes, I would like that very much.

* Two Three Sherlock Holmes vids I loved a lot: this untitled one by giandujakiss, which feels like riding the whirlwind of Holmes's mind, and Fever by talitha78, which makes me grin. (Latter is Holmes/Watson.) And ETA: The Boxer by settai, just up, which is OT3 (Holmes/Watson/Irene Adler).

* A few Festivids I especially enjoyed, bearing in mind that much like Yuletide reading, I only watched vids for source I'm interested in/familiar with:

- Let's Misbehave (White Collar)
- No Fate (FlashForward - DEMETRI!)
- Afraid of Americans (Watchmen)
- Lullaby for a Stormy Night (The Sound of Music)
- Mr. Blue Sky (WALL-E)
- Radar (Die Hard movies)
- Stand By Your Man (Wild Wild West 1965) - first I laughed out loud a lot, then I felt vaguely dirty for ogling Robert Conrad. But I got over it.

Also, hi. The five-day non-stop weatherpocalypse continues. (We've expanded from rain into thunderstorms, hail and snow, too. With bonus mudslides.) Brrrr.
