Looks like most people have seen Star Trek now. Still cutting this for spoilers though, just in case. ^_~

Thanks to Blu_harvest, I keep calling TOS the Original Recipe now. *head-desk* )

Yeah, but Spok was TEH SEX!

If I was Uhura, I woulda thrown myself at him TOO!!!!!!

Just don't talk about his momma.

I did all this reasearch on wtf was up with the wonky romulans. The internet had some interesting facts about that! (Shall I go on? Or shall we just drool over dark haired sexy, brilliant vulcans?)

Oh, do go on! I certainly don't mind discussing Trek. lol I don't think the Romulans bothered me. Some of the science *yeesh*, but I'm used to ignoring a lot of reality where the science of Trek is concerned. Discover had a pretty neat article on that though: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/badastronomy/2009/05/08/ba-review-star-trek/

well, it's a given that a black hole does not make time travel happen.

Just that - Why did the Romulans look different?

A: A comic explains that shaving their heads and tattooing their skin was a mourning ritual.

Okay - but I am sure the real reason was: if you never watched next gen, you don't know that romulans are just vulcans but with shoulderpads - which would have been confusing to a new audience. I looked into them being Remans from "Nemesis" but apparently not. So they just wanted to make them look cool/ scary.

Okay, but why did that mining ship look nothing like any other mining ship?

A: The comic also revealed that the mining ship had some borg technology. Again, I think it just is designed to look scary. Also, it doesnt have to look like the empire ships because the Romulan empire fell anyway.

lol Okay, I actually knew about the close relation between Romulans and Vulcans, and about the mourning tattos. I did wonder about the ship a bit, but figured some artistic license there. I mean, if I was already suspending disbelief about red matter(wtf?), black holes, and time travel, the ship was easy.

I'll have to look for this comic though.

IMO... the only thing worth discussing is Capt. Kirk hotness... just kidding... I just dont know a thing about Star Trek... :)

There was almost too much hotness to choose from. Normally, I lean towards Spock anyway, and I did like Zachary Quinto in the role, but I really just can't resist Karl Urban's McCoy in this. heh ^_^

And the Woobie-award http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheWoobie goes to either little Spock or Chekov. Both were so adorable!

I have never been a fan of Zachary Quint, I think my hatred of Syler wont allow it but Zulu and the Dr (cant remember his name) are hot too! ^_^
