Jim Hawkins sits on the beach outside the hotel, an array of bits of metal and machinery salvaged from anywhere he could find it spread around him. There's not much, but enough for his purposes. Kirk is shuffling through the sand down the beach, skipping rocks out onto the waves of the ocean, when he spots a kid in the distance working with some heavy metal. Intrigued, he approaches the kid... and a floating pink blob...

"Whoa. What is that?" the floating pink thing was just a bit distracting from the work at hand. He even forgot to introduce himself.

Jim looks up in surprise, rubbing his forehead with a gloved hand. "It's a solar surfer," he says, "Or it will be when I'm done building it."

Kirk points at the blob, "I meant that... but... a solar surfer?" He frowns a bit, kind of confused.

"Oh, that's Morph." The little blob zips around Kirk's head, staring at him curiously with enlarged eyes. "This is a solar surfer," he says, rapping his knuckles against the thick metal of the board. The engine isn't attached to it yet, that's what he'd been working on when Kirk walked up. "I'm still kind of working on the 'solar' part, for this one."
