The last forty-eight hours of Arthur Curry's life have basically sucked, and it is starting to look like the universe is going for a seventy-two hour spree. His best friend is in the hospital, his boat's half-wrecked, he is about to get his ass handed to him in court for his dolphin freeing spree, and he is apparently supposed to save the world ( Read more... )

Pamela Isley is no great fan of sand and saltwater, but she's a sucker for a tuft of healthy Achnatherum hymenoides and has been sunning in the grass on a sand dune when Arthur breaks the surface. That's new. Nobody she's met before has ever swum in the manner of a dolphin. Smirking a little, she sits up and shields her eyes from the sun. "Need a towel?"

Arthur glances towards the direction of the voice and is rewarded with the sight of a gorgeous redhead. Well, maybe this place was not so bad. "That'd be great, yeah. I'm afraid I - got away from my boat." Considering it was still in dock, as far as he knew, that was a bit of an understatement. He runs his hand through his hair, shaking a liberal amount of water from the strands, careful not to spray the woman.

"Shame," Pam remarks, gracefully crossing her legs in front of her without disturbing a strand of the grass blowing in the breeze. "Especially as you're not likely to get it back now that you're here."

"...what's that supposed to mean?" Oh, great, is she going to sprout claws and attack him now? He has had enough of that to last him a long while. He takes a cautious step back, eyeing her.

Just his luck, Jessica is walking down from the hotel in a bright ocean blue bikini and a white lace sarong with tassels, her hair tied back into pigtails that hang loosely to either side of her head. With her similarly tall -- and growing -- stack of crappy days, a break on the beach sounded relaxing and familiar. She only wishes Sam was here with her. But he has his own issues and she isn't about to push it.

The sand feels good on her feet when she kicks off her flip-flops, staring out at the ocean just in time to see a shape bobbing up over the water fairly far out. Following the beach down a ways, curiosity getting the better of her, she intends to meet this person who is wandering toward her in the distance.

"Hello!" her voice rings out over the sand, carried down a ways by the tide that's coming in.

Of all the things to see when he glances up at the beach, that woman is not one of them. He lets out a startled cry, leaping backwards. "I just killed you!" This was so not funny anymore. He looks around frantically for something sharp and pointy, but only manages to come up with a bit of driftwood. He holds it out threateningly, prepared to stab the siren, or her twin sister, or whoever this was again.

"When will you learn to back the hell off?" He was going to kill McCaffery. Obviously stabbing them between the eyes did not work nearly as well as he thought it did.

Just killed? Her mind flashed to the shadowed figure in the bathroom and her eyes went wide. Logically, he was jumping away from her and threatening her with drift wood, and he couldn't possibly be a demon, could he? Whatever the case, the word "killed" definitely took precedent. Stumbling backwards, sand kicked up in all directions, Jess says shakily, "What... what are you talking about? Who are you?"

"Are we going to have this fight again? Because I will stab you, you crazy bitch!" He is shaking, but trying to ignore it, glaring at her. Killing someone, even if it was a siren and not a human, was easy in the middle of a heated fight, but standing out in the broad daylight on a beach, with her looking like a scared human, it was much harder to be as threatening as he wanted to be.

Clark's walking out on the beach when he spots Arthur. "Uh, just got here, I'm guessing."

"Yeah, I'm afraid so. Does this island have a name?" He frowns at Clark, and then at the island around him, still trying to figure out how in the heck it got here in the first place.

"Unless 'the island' counts, no." He shrugs a little. "I guess everyone who shows up is a bit too surprised to worry about being creative about it."

"Great. So- that whole thing about people just showing up and never getting off is true?" He wants to jump right back in the water and test that theory, but he figures he might want to wait until the beach empties.
