Where the hell are you, Scotty?!

May 19, 2009 03:44

One minute this dashing young man is talking to Nyo- ahem, Uhura in the elevator to the cockpit of his starship and the next minute he’s walking through the doors into another room. Where’s the crew? Spock, Uhura, and son-of-a-bitch! Where is his chair? A speedy glance over the place tells him it’s a hotel lobby, and the sun of what appears to be ( Read more... )

Spock is in his newly discovered room, meditating, when the call comes over the communicator. The sound jerks him out of his contemplation and he looks at the device for a moment in near disbelief before he reaches for it. "Captain?" There is a most un-Vulcan like trace of surprise in his tone as he answers. He is already standing and moving at a brisk pace toward the elevators, if it's from the ship he must be outside for them to beam him back up and if it isn't...the lobby is the most logical place to look.

Jim looks down at his communicator with an expression of confusion and relief, and then picks it up again, "Oh, great! You picked up! I don't know how I ended up here, but you've got to get Scotty to get me back out."

As if he would see the ship from the ground, he looks outside the front window, full of anticipation. This place gave him the creeps.

He surpresses a sigh as he steps into the elevator and hits the button for the first floor. "I have been unable to make contact with Mr. Scott, or anyone from the Enterprise, sir," he says as it takes him down, doors opening with a quiet chime. "It appears," he adds as he moves into the lobby and lowers the communicator, "that we are in the same predicament."

"What are you talking about, Mr. Spoc--" He turns back toward the lobby just in time to see his first officer walking around the corner. With a grimace, he drops his hand to his side, "You were just with Bones. How'd you get here?"

"I don't think you can," comes an apologetic voice from the stairs. Laurie heads down said stairs and over to the new arrival, giving him a small smile. "Um. Sorry? All I know is no one can get out. It's really kind of weird."

If Kirk had wanted out ASAP a few moments before, he was certainly debating spending some leg --er-- lag time now. "I'm Captain James T. Kirk, but you can call me Jim," he introduced himself in his most smooth, to-be-used-on-gorgeous-women-only voice.

"I'm Sandra," she says with only a slight bit of hesitation. She quirks an eyebrow, though, and gives him a rather amused look. "Nice to meet you. Welcome to -- uh, wherever the hell we are. Most people call it the hotel."

"Pleasure to meet you, Sandra." His eyes never leaving her face, he gives her a sly dog grin. "We get to shake hands now, or--" he holds out his hand in greeting, cutting off suggestively with a twitch of his eyebrow.

Cameron is in the kitchen when she hears the entreaty. "You have got to be kidding me," she murmurs before heading to the lobby.

She'll pause at the doorway. Wow. He is so very... not... William Shatner. Right. Down to business. She clears her throat. "There's really no way out that anyone's found, sorry."

Jim stops. Closes his eyes. Opens them again.

Yep. Still there.

"Hello, Angel, how are you doin'?" and the fact that there's no way out seems to completely shoot over his head. Yay, Jim.

She actually looks vaguely amused. "I'm fine, thank you."

"Good to know," he smiles, and then it hits him, "What were you saying earlier, about... leaving?"

Did it really matter? She was a nice piece on two legs, he could stay a while. An hour or two. Three maybe, because she seemed like she might be a difficult conquest.

"Well, hi there." This is from the direction of the kitchen, where Mimi was just getting a glass of lemonade. She can't very well help but give him a flirtatious smile, and heads over with a curious headtilt.

"James Tiberius Kirk, huh?" He's a hell of a lot cuter than William Shatner. And she's been bored, lately, so why not? She sets down her lemonade and offers him a hand. "Mimi Marquez."

"Didn't even have to ask for your hand," he grins and pulls her closer with the handshake, "You have no idea what an honor it is to meet you, Ms. Marquez." Nothing like a full pair of lips to distract a guy from impending entrapment.

Mimi laughs and gives him a grin. "An honor, huh? It's been a while since I've heard that." Then again, it's been a while since she's been back home, too.

"So. You're really the captain of the Enterprise, or are you just being impressive?" If he's a cosplayer or something, he's a really really cute one.

"Yes, ma'am. Somehow I got transported here though," he frowns, "It's curious because I'm sure there are no pods in the elevator shaft... and hey, you know about the Enterprise?" Thank goodness, of all people to bump into, someone familiar with Starfleet.

Rorschach wanders inside from his daily patrol of the beach. Not much to patrol, but he does it anyway. Because someone has to. Because if he won't, who will?

He shoves his hands in his pockets, staring at Kirk from across the room, without the cover of his mask. Seemed pointless to wear it all the time, these days. Might as well go incognito for a while.

"You're new," he grunts, raising a curious eyebrow at him.

"What gave me away?" Kirk fumbles for a smile to give the man who wanders up to him, and he holds out a hand in greeting, "James Kirk. You can call me 'Jim.'"
