A Boating Accident

Apr 11, 2009 19:58

A head pops up in the water along the beach, and bobs there for a very long minute. Rogue could still smell the marsh water clinging to her hair, but the taste in her mouth was definitely sea salt. She hadn't fallen unconscious when the boat tipped over sending Remy, Jean Luc, and herself into the land of the crocodiles. But apparently in the time ( Read more... )

If it's the beach she's on, it means Jack Sparrow, complete with rum bottles stolen from the hotel, can't be far away. About twenty feet from Rogue, he squints and examines her back. Wet, huddled flotsam. He knew how to handle this.

"Easy there, love," he says, settling a hand on Rogue's (hopefully clothed) shoulder and proffering a half-full bottle. "Water spit you out? Drink this. Magic elixer, guaranteed to warm you up."

Luckily, her shoulder is covered by a thick tank-top strap, but otherwise, her sweater hangs off to either side. Not her best clothing assortment, but hey she's got to stay cool somehow.

Without thinking, Rogue takes the bottle from the man, expecting, well, something else, and then stops and stares at it, a nervous look crossing her face, "Er... Ah don't drink."

She holds out the bottle to him again, turning her face back to the horizon.

To a pirate, this is an unbelievable admission. "Ye don't?" he asks solemnly, pulling his hand back and gripping the bottle with it. "What d'you do, then?"

It really must be luck that Scott is near enough to hear someone call his name. He normally wouldn't have cared much - Scott is a common name, after all - but Kurt and Logan are not quite as common, nor in combination with his own name. With a frown, he sprints over and slows to a stop.

"... You ... Called?" She certainly looks familiar. Scott's only met one other person with that hair, but this girl looks a bit ... Off.

It's true, she probably looks nothing like the Rogue that he is accustomed to seeing, considering she's dressed in heavy, makeup of the Gothic sort, black stright-leg jeans, and a dark purple, off-the-shoulder sweater, with a black tank top underneath. And of course the balck biker gloves are a must.

Startled out of her little revelrie, she turns to see where the voice is coming from and is met with an equally odd sight: A man with ruby glasses. Of course, Scott is a much of a boyscout as ever, and it's not hard for her to be able to identify that goofy haircut.

"Yeah..." she smiles a little, relieved, sniffing as she rubs her nose with the back of her glove.

Well, they'll work out the kinks later, assuming she really is Rogue, which he's sure of.

"Come on ... Let's head inside." He smiles a little and offers her his hand.

Cautiously, she takes his offered hand and gets up off the sand. He's not the Scott she was expecting, but he is nice enough not to mention the blip in this weird thing they call reality. So she doesn't say anything either.

"Thanks..." she smiles again. Whatever reality, this Scott is still just as admirable and dashing as the one in her world. Though, she'd given up on that possibility long ago. He was too into Jean, and she and Rogue were two very different people.

"What happened? Where are we?"

Warren is in the air when he sees her in the water fully dressed, which to him means she didn't likely mean to end up there, but he's a long way off and she's reached land by the time he gets there. He lands a few yards away, careful not to kick sand up in her direction as he touches down. "Hey, are you all right?"

Rogue spots Warren flying overhead a few moments before he lands, and when he does, she stares at him openly. This is definitely not the Warren she remembers from her heroic excursion with Scott over Christmas Break, but she is vaguely certain that it -is- actually him.

"Ah think so," she sighs, eyeing his magnificent wings, "This isn't Louisiana, is it." It's not a question.

"No, it's not Louisiana. No one knows where it is, and there's nothing else for as far as I can go in any direction." He adjusts his wings so that he can sit on the sand as well. "Are you all right? Did you mean to end up in the water?"

"Ah'm fine," Rogue says, watching him out of the corner of her eye as he sat, "Fell out of a boat, but altogether, I'm better than I could be."

Searching the island waiting for something to do, Sylar is walking along, looking at the ocean occasionally for the chance of spotting anyone or anything that could get him off this damned island. Powers all over the place, but far too many heroes to breathe comfortably.

Superman? That was just unfair.

He spots the teenage girl come in from the water and curl up on the sand. Intrigued, and knowing that appearances can be deceiving, Sylar saunters over to her and calls out as he approaches. "Hello there."

The hair on the back of Rogue's neck stands on end for a brief moment, and she turns to look over her shoulder at the man behind her, "Hey."

He is unfamilliar, just like this place. That is not the reassurance she was hoping for.

Sylar stands a few feet away, looking out at the ocean. "I suppose you're wondering where the hell you are."

"Yeah," she replies, weirded out by this new guys abruptness, "Ah guess you could say ah am."

Molly has been a smite wary of the beach since her encounter with the attitudinal horse that frequents the shores, but today there are no rude equines on the horizon and she's on her way out to wade in the ocean. Splashing through the surf, she stops in water no deeper than her knees, almost directly in front of Rogue. "Hi!" the little girl chirps. "You have really pretty hair."

Rogue turns around to see the little girl and can't help but smile, "Well, thank you. You're not too shabby yourself." Chuckling, because little kids are just too cute, she winks playfully at her.

"Thank you!" Molly beams, twirling a little in the water. "You're all wet. Did you fall in?"

"Ah guess so," Rogue shrugs, looking out at the water. "But the boat that ah fell out of isn't even here..."
