A short distance from the hotel, in the trees, Warren Peace is lying unconcious in the underbrush. His face is blistered and burned like from acid, and there are marks and bruises around his wrists and arms from being tied. The marks will be on his legs as well though they're hidden by his jeans. What are sweet and innocent puppets for, if not for torture?

Well, sweet and innocent puppets know the room numbers of their friends if they need someone to flail at. In the meantime, Warren isn't moving.

The Batman is out on one of his periodic patrols around the hotel and its surrounding areas, and stops dead when he comes to the pile of Warren on the ground. He takes a minute to assure himself that Warren is in fact alive, then heads to inspect the pile of vines and burned foliage. He picks up the cup and puts it somewhere safe, then proceeds to get fingerprints and other important clues from the chair. He's not going to wake Warren up (he'd rather work in peace), but he will take him back to the hotel eventually.

He'd have a time waking Warren up if he did try, and he barely stirs as the Batman takes him back to the hotel. When he does he'll be too happy to let Bats know what happened.

And another Bat will be lurking nearby. One look at the scene, and she frowns.

"Ivy. I'll bet anything."

"I was thinking the same thing," he says quietly. "Just need to find out where she's hiding."
