Gullible? Yes. Gluttonous? Definitely.Cartman's already been inventorying the contents of the hotel carefully, and being the opportunistic little bastard that he is, veers down upon the table of goodies as soon as he sees it. "Score, dude! Candy corn... lollipops... Reese's... caramel apples! Aw, sweet!" He shovels the sugar into his mouth with all the grace of a bulldozer and chomps heartily down on a caramel apple ( ... )

Robert Bruce Banner is, and probably always will be, a careful man. And he's very wary of this hotel. So when he sees the bowl of candy sitting out, he stands there and contemplates it for a bit. A trick or a treat? After plenty of internal debate he tells himself he's being paranoid, and takes a couple of pieces of candy corn.

Bad move.

The monitor on his wrist flares up in a beeping frenzy as Bruce stumbles back, nearly clawing at himself to resist the change. He's never been so scared to change before, and that frightens him more. Bruce falls to his knees and fists his hands in his hair, eyes clenched tight, breathing fast and heavily as he attempts to make sense of this and control it.

Typist: Nothing like the fear of monsters for the man who turns into the Hulk ...

Pepper enters the lobby just in time to hear the heart monitor go off and see Bruce fall to the floor. Alarmed, she rushes over to him and gently places an hand on his arm.

"Bruce? Are you all right? What happened?"

He graps her arm, almost too strong to be humanly possible. It's not meant to hurt her -- no, it's very obviously a clinging hold, hoping that human contact will help ground him. But beneath his skin he can feel his veins pulsing and his blood bubbling, a fimilia feeling of nausea and dizziness creeping up on him. He wants to scream and he won't let himself.

"Help ..." Bruce finally manages to say, voice cracking and fading out. How do you help a man who's scared of himself, even Bruce doesn't know.

She lets out a soft gasp; the grip on her arm is strong enough to bring her to her knees. Her other hand goes out to his shoulder in an attempt to balance herself.

"Tell me how to help you," she asks, trying to keep her voice as steady as possible. He's clearly frightened enough and having to cope with her anxiety will only make matters worse.
