"Not where you bloody want to be," Michelle mumbles, sulking on a couch.

"Obviously," Inara says amusedly. "Because where I wanted to be was in my shuttle, on Serenity"

"Well. You can't go home. There's no fucking way." Michelle, always so cheerful.

"Really." There's a bit of an eyebrow quirk.

Simon snaps to attention at the sound of a very familiar voice, and he rushes into the room. "Inara?"

It is her! Overjoyed to see a friendly face, he can't help rushing over to Inara and grasping her hand. "Lao tian! You're finally here!"

Typist: Blame taken. ^_____^

Inara smiles and squeezes his hand, but the smile quickly changes to a look of mild confusion. "Simon, I just saw you ten minutes ago. Before Mal came in."

"What? No, it's been months since I've last seen you. Look, Inara..." Simon takes a deep breath. "We're in a hotel on an island. That's all we know about where we are."

"..On an island?" That confusion's not mild anymore. "What? How?"

"Well, in case it's escaped your notice, I ain't in yer shuttle. There's here's a mighty shiny hotel, and Serenity's outside on the tennis courts. She's doin' just fine, thanks fer askin'." Mal forces a smile, because he knows there is no way that this will be pleasant.

Inara just raises an eyebrow at him. "I can see that. But you were, and then I was -- here."

[tightpants_capn]

"Yuh huh, that's about how it works, 'round here." A slightly softer, more sympathetic smile. "I ain't been on yer shuttle nigh on two years. Time's a bit wibbley here 'bouts. Wish I could explain it. Can't."

And seeing as she knows River... she might notice a young woman that looks a lot like the reader. Except where she's not. She cants her head a bit watching the woman's every move not quite saying a word. She doesn't know what or who Serenity is. Then again... she doesn't know who Mal is either.

Inara blinks a bit and starts toward her. "River? Where have you been? Simon's been looking for you."

Cameron stepped back when the woman approached. "Who's Simon?"
