Here, Hotel, have a lost and cranky X5

Max is on her way back through Terminal City, her bike loaded with supplies.  She skids to a stop on the wet pavement outside the main building, and bundling up some of the stuff from her bike, heads on inside.

Except inside is NOT Transgenic HQ like she expected.  Inside is a hotel lobby.  She nearly drops the parcels she's carrying, looking around

Jondy looks up where she's curled up on the couch in the lobby and is startled by the sudden eerie feeling of deja vu and recognition when she sees the newest occupant.

"No one really knows," she says quietly, peeking over her book with wide blue eyes. She knows, just knows she's supposed to know this woman, but she can't quite place her.

Max glances over. And does a double-take, recognizing her immediately. "Jondy. What're you doing here? Someone planning a reunion?"

He had sat there for the longest time and was still sitting there on his bike when she came in. Yeah, she didn't look all that happy but then again he didn't expect her to. After all, they were in some strange ass fucking place. Damnable place snuck up on him.

"If I knew, Maxie, I'd tell you."

Max looks over at Alec. She's surprised to see him, although she knows she probably shouldn't be. He just seemed to have this way of cropping up where least suspected and wanted. "Alec. What're you doing here?"

"Don't rightly know. I just ended up showing up here the same way you did."

Noticing Alec's bike, Max goes to the window to see if hers is still outside. Except of course, there's nothing except for sand and water. Well. That bites. "Great... How long've you been here?"

"I dunno," Jack grins from the bar across the lobby.

Max looks over. They have a bar? She supposes it isn't that surprising that a hotel would have a bar, but it certainly doesn't seem to be a regular hotel. Not given the manner of her arrival anyway.

She heads on over to Jack. "So. Know anything about this place at all?"

"Sure I do. What do you wanna know?" He doesn't mention he's only been here a week.

Max helps herself to a beer, and leans against the bar. "Well, what can you tell me?"

"Language, please," Joan says, her tone not quite making it to scold. She observes this newcomer for a moment, not knowing what to make of her dress or her manner. "As to what is the matter here, I'm afraid that there many who would explain better than I. What little explanation there is."

Max shrugs off the almost-scold, eyeing Joan. "You know anything at all about this place?" She asks, softening her tone.

At the softening, Joan relaxes somewhat, and when she does she looks more vulnerable. They are both lost here. "Only that when we arrive, we are not permitted to leave."

Max makes a face. "I'm not real big on being "permitted" to do things- or, not." She glances around the lobby, and offers Joan a slight smile. "I've broken out of worse places than this."

Simon's in the lobby, for once, waiting mostly for someone he knows to show up, but he gives the obviously-surprised Max a sympathetic look. "This isn't where you wanted to go, is it?"

Max shakes her head. "No, not even close."
