The bar was quickly becoming one of Justin's favorite places, as much as anything in the place could be a favorite when he had never had any intention of being there; it wasn't even the alcohol he was there for (though it did help to calm his nerves a little, which were still shot from the unexpected turn of events topped off on what had already ( Read more... )

Brian walks into the bar, it being a regular haunt of his aswell, especially with having little all to do to fill his time. Soon after entering he notices the blonde sitting at the bar. His first thought is to just turn and leave, but no, why should Brian Kinney be the one to leave, and besides, he was here first.

He strides over to the bar and sits on the stool beside him.

"I'd offer to buy you a drink but being as they're pretty free flowing, don't think there'd be much point."

Brian turns to watch him and slowly starts a sarcastic hand clap.

"Oh well done. Well done Sunshine. Do you feel better now? Had your little say? Poor little Justin, didn't get what he wanted from New York? Well boo fucking hoo. Nobody made you go, nobody forced you out. If you want me to be the villain, fine, I'll be the villain. Will that make you happy Justin?! Will it?!" His voice gradually grows louder as the anger bubbles up under the surface.

Justin turns to face him at that. "What would make me happy? Is if you did give a shit - really gave a shit, Brian. If you hadn't been just trying to do what you thought made me happy, or told me I should go to New York because that's what I would do if you weren't in my life. Because you were in my life, and if you had given a shit you would have known that I wanted to marry you, not some ideal of you that you thought I'd made up in my head. You would have known that the only reason I would have gone to New York if you weren't in my life would have been because there was nothing for me anywhere else."

Rather than stick around and wait for things to get even more explosive, Justin stalks out.

Brian just stares after him for a long time. A stern expression pasted on his face. He stands there like a statue, part of him wishing it were easier to just tell Justin how wrong he is, how he just wants to take him in his arms again. But he can't do that. Brian Kinney can't do that.

After a while he gives a soft shake of the head and makes for the door, but not before removing the discarded art from the trash and taking it with him.
