...I thought as much.

Probably too much to hope for wasn't it?

It's the way things go.

Don't let it control you, but don't forget.

I don't think its something easily forgotten.

No. These things never are.

Ironically I keep putting my companion in situations where she's more than likely to die. The memory doesn't quite let me live it down, but it's always...been for the good of many.

...Outweighs the good of the few...

I wish it didn't.

Either way it gnaws at the conscience, doesn't it? Half the time you don't even know the many.

S'good thing she managed to convince the Dalek not to kill her.

Mmmm, it does.

...convince a Dalek...is that even possible?

Dunno how many times I've been tempted to just throw in the towel and retire, so to speak. Never could though.

To be fair the Dalek had human DNA, wasn't pure. It's around here. Metaltron Rose calls it. Probably shouldn't mess with it, unless it becomes hostile. Rose wouldn't forgive us.

I've already lost count in this incarnation.

I don't think we've the ability to settle down anymore.

...Human DNA?...

...Daleks are killers, why would Rose be upset if we destroyed it?

it gets worse, that's all I'll say.

Hey, now. Don't say that. I may have a "Mrs. the Doctor" if things go properly.

Hard to explain, it absorbed Rose's DNA and mutated. At any case, Rose has taken it as a kind of...pet? I've already spared the thing before. It's...not good, but it's not bad? ...I can't believe I just said that...You'd have to see it to understand anything.

Things usually do get worse before they get better.

I...right...yes...well. That's nice for you.

...Pet Dalek?! *blink blink*

Darkest before dawn, that whole idea.

*grins, manically* I don't even do domestic.

...Pet Dalek. Like I said, complicated. Follows her around and gets jealous of other people getting attention and everything. *pause* Though since it's her DNA in the Dalek maybe it's more like her child...

I didn't think any of us did...not after Susan left anyway.

...Right...you won't be offended if I do my best to stay away from it right? *is more than a little bit creeped out about the idea of that Dalek*

Susan is actually part of why I'm actually taking steps towards it. *pause* She calls her "Grandmother"...

Not at all, I keep out of its way. Tends to try and compare me to it, I rather dislike the idea of being compared to a Dalek.

Yes...well...we probably should have found a more maternal influence on her back in our first incarnation. *small uncomfortable cough*

...Compared to it?...Ohhh dear, I don't like that idea either Doctor.
