Mrs. Lovett's Grand Re-Opening

Jan 20, 2008 01:32

Auburn hair cascading down in ringlettes around her ashen face, Mrs. Marjorie Lovett burst through the thin door of Suite 42 and stumbled clumsily into the main hall of the ship.  Her eyes narrowed in a vengful glare.  She remembered the burn, the fear, the spite... the broken trust.  Her broken heart.  Marching down the walk with her rolling pin ( Read more... )

So here's Luigi Lucheni, assassin and anarchist, watching with an amused and sketchy smirk.

"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned?" Not that he'd know. He never made it out of Purgatory.

Mrs. Lovett came to an abrupt halt and stared at the man before her, rolling pin raised to strike. Then, giving him a once over, she pursed her lips and finally lowered her weapon. Placing a gloved hand on either hip, Marjorie tilted her head to the side and said, "Yeah, wha' is it t'you?"

"Call it an observation." He looks out at the sea for a moment, then back at her. "What a fine weapon you're sporting."

It was then that Mrs. Lovett noticed the location of... they were on a ship? In the middle of the ocean. A thin eyebrow on her forehead raised in interest. This was a new development.

She looked back at the man, and then at her rolling pin, "It does the job; tha's all I ask."

"Oh -- Mrs. Lovett!" Anthony starts to smile, then pulled back, startled at the expression on Mrs. Lovett's face. "What's the matter?"

Marjorie slowed to a stop, her dark eyes coming back into focus at the sound of a familiar voice, "Anthony?"

When the shock was over, she frowned and her brow furrowed, "I'm..." What? Reincarnated? He wouldn't believe that. She wanted revenge, and she was going to be smart about it.

"Mr. Todd has--" she tilted her head to the side and she approached Anthony, "--betrayed me. And now I seem to be lost."

"Betrayed you -- ? No, that's impossible. I trust Mr. Todd like I trust my right arm, he would never betray anyone! I'm sure it was only a mistake." Anthony looks rather dismayed at the thought of Mr. Todd betraying anyone.

Mrs. Lovett slumped against the wall. It was time to make this look convincing, if she was ever going to win Anthony's trust. She let her pin drop to the floor, and ran both of her hands through the hair that fell in her face.

"I loved him, you know," she said quietly, casting a sideways glance at the boy's face. "Left me, he did. After he attacked me. Barkin' mad, he was. Said something about his wife. I--" she looked to the floor "Where am I?"

Sweeney, being himself, will be lounging against a convenient railing with a rather dangerous light in his eyes. When he sees Mrs. Lovett, a rather dangerous smirk appears on his face.

"Well. You look a little hot and bothered, pet."

Her skirts flying out around her like a demon from Hell, Mrs. Lovett marched straight up to Sweeney Todd, her eyes glaring daggers. If looks could kill, Sweeney would be roasted one thousand times over. If she played her cards right, maybe she'd get him... Maybe, if she cooled off in front of him, maybe he'd think the worst was over, then she'd be free to plot without interference. She'd do this the proper way; she'd wait. She could be patient.

She had to bite her cheek to keep herself from throwing him over the railing right there, "After being flambéed in my own oven, I'm not surprised. In fact," she spit, "hot would be an understatement."

"I'm sorry. Should I have said well-done?" Why yes, that smirk is still there.

"You lied to me."

"Mr. Todd," she said simply, wagging the rolling pin in his arrogant face, "'Took the poison,' I said. Never said she died. Never."

She shook her head furiously, "Running about, selling herself on the streets, ha! Crazy, she was. Driven mad by the poison she drank."

"Might as well be dead, Mr.T, 'cause there was nothing left of Lucy up here," she tapped her head with her finger, pointing to her brain.

[Typist: A fellow Sondheim character! Just a note - I think her name might be given as Nellie in canon, though I like Marjorie. :)]

*Amy nods with a knowing roll of her eyes, brushing a few strands of blonde-brown hair away from her face* Men. They drive me mad what with the love letters and the 'have you been to your therapist this week?' and the 'is dinner ready yet?' and all.

Mrs. Lovett stopped and stared at the new woman, raising an eyebrow. An unfamiliar face, this was. Although, love letters and therapists were technically nothing compared to her own problems.

"I'da been happy if a love letter was all," she said simply. "Instead, I find myself healing from bonfire burns in a matter of minutes."

*Amy's eyes widen* Bonfire burns? How did that happen?

The laugh that came out of Mrs. Lovett was light, ironic with just a hint of spite, "My oven. My love threw me in with me pies."

*Mina (who happens to be a vampire, but that's neither here nor there) is rather confused by the sight of a woman marching determindly accross the ship with a rolling pin in hand* Excuse me, but is there anything I can do to help you?

Her pace slowed, and Mrs. Lovett turned her head to smile serenely at the woman beside her. Wait, love. Wait.

"Yes, acutally," she grinned, "Can you tell me where we are, and where we are going?"

*Mina frowns slightly* I'm afraid that's one of the few things I can't do. You see, no one I've met knows the answer to either of those questions.

Mrs. Lovett huffed, and frowned, "How long have we been at sea?"
