"Much more to her than meets the eye..."

"Ahem." A rather tall, sharply-dressed woman has walked into the room. She is extremely pale, and her attractive, intelligent-looking features register a look of great confusion.

"Would someone be able to tell me where I am?"

"On a ship, going God knows where." Roger says helpfully, leaning against the railing.

Back to London, maybe? Or at least, I was in Switzerland, so if I am on a boat, chances are I'm crossing the Channel. Or did you mean that in a metaphorical sense?

Nice to meet you, Roger. I'm Bella.

No one knows where we're going, so your guess is as good as mine. *shrugs - he's been here for a while, so the prospect doesn't bother him as much any more*

Bella was not brought up to believe in God, but, if she had been, this would be proof that the deity had a bizarre sense of humor. There she had been, practically praying for a quiet place to escape to, a place where she could sort out her feelings and figure out where she belonged. She did not know how she felt about being trapped on a ship, but at least it was better than being arrested by Lestrade.

What does one do here to pass the time?

Tres bien, mademoiselle--I'm afraid you have the advantage of me.

((Apologies. My French is atrocious, though I should make myself practice more. I would hate to humiliate him by mangling his native language.))

(Typist: No problem.)
