Her grace is remarkable, and her dancing is beautiful, but both those qualities are slightly dminished by the faintest wince whenever she puts her weight on her left foot. Ever the doctor, Henry notices immediately the wince and studies her movements carefully before realizing the problem must stem from her foot. He is entranced indeed, for the girl is beautiful and a wonderful dancer, but his professionalism, as usual, wins through.

"Miss. You oughtn't dance on a bad foot."

Henry nods. "And your foot after that. Did it start hurting, or was that not until later?"

[gypsysorceress]

Oh, no! It hurt before than! *shudders*

"Well then, I'm at a loss." Henry frowns. "Tell me if anything hurts when I touch it." He begins to apply pressure to various parts of her foot and ankle to check for breaks and bone bruises and whatnot.

[gypsysorceress]

It hurts most of the places where you touch it. *she pauses* After they tortured me they told me that I would still be able to dance.

Henry looks shocked at that and frowns deeply. "Tortured? Dear God, Miss, who's tortured you? Have you told anyone? What all did they do..?"

[gypsysorceress]

It was the official torturer of Paris, I think, though I never really cared who it was doing it...and all of the city knows, at least anyone who cared to...oh! And the wicked priest, he knows, he watched it.

This troubles him greatly. "What did they do? Was it more than just your foot, how long ago?"

[gypsysorceress]

It was at least a few weeks ago, and only my foot...they used something called 'the boot', I think.
