A wordless voice bellows throughout the mansion, filled with heart-wrenching sorrow and betrayal.
Any and all remaining sanity granted to the Opera Ghost flees in those moments as the cry turns to one of murderous rage. It leaves with whatever little trust he held in his heart for mankind, with what dim hopes he had so foolishly allowed himself to keep about his own happily ever after.
There is no room in this world for Erik. His brilliance was denied, his love turned away, his trust tossed aside liket he worthless jewel it so obviously must be in spite of its rarity.
A man who had been so quiet, so withdrawn and reserved (if tempermental) was once again omnipotent. All-powerful and invincible... unstopable. And once more, in pursuit of revenge for the countless crimes against him.
The voice rages on. "It is Erik who is her prisoner, Vicomte de Changy!" Yes, he has once again moved into third person. "He loves and he trusts, and she promises and destroys! Beauty runs from the Beast into the arms of the perfect Prince Charming!"
"The ending to this Fairy Tale will be fit for a Grimm storybook!" Erik vows. "No matter the costs."
"THEN COME AND FIGHT ME, ERIK!" Raoul shouted angrily, whirly about to see where the monster was. "I swear I will shoot you down if you so much as lay a finger on her."
