Another Narnian King

Nov 28, 2006 13:35

The Mansion has, in the course of the night gained a new King of Narnia, which brings the total to three, one believes. Unless one counts the Great Lion, High King of High Kings, in which case there are now four Narnian Kings. Regardless of the count, here is another dressed in the colors of his country and seeming...well, quite lost for one thing ( Read more... )

Georgiana regards the young man with her usual caution. However, there is an air about him that puts her somewhat at ease, and so she approaches and greets him with a polite curtsy.

"Y-you are in the Mansion, sir. I fear th-that is all I or anyone else knows."

Caspian is very hard not to like, or at least, he is a good and gentle King and well liked among his people and taken to quickly, so it's perhaps best for Georgiana this way, and certainly best for Caspian himself, who would very much like to know where he is.

"The Mansion, Fair Lady?" He repeats and his brow wrinkles a bit. "Is there no Lord of this Manor then?"

"No, sir. No Lord or owner of any sort." And she smiles, shyly. "M-many people come and go here."

"What country, Gentle Lady, have I found myself in? Certainly that is knowledge widely known?"

He smiles back to her and it seems as if something dawns upon him rather suddenly and he bows over her hand, properly. "Forgive my manners, Lady, I have all but forgotten them in my disorientation."

"I am King Caspian X of Narnia."

Dirk is bumbling along, dressed in his eccentric own way - a healthy mix of Cambridge professor and movie vampire. He stops when he spies Caspian and tilts his red hat (it moves briefly, but is soon once again perfectly horizontal).

"I very much doubt you have lost your way, young man. It is my experience that people are simply lacking in the ability to recognise the way they really are travelling, being as they are so hung up on the way they believe they ought to be travelling. The latter way is, of course and most often, the wrong one."

And Caspian is too used to the oddness of the world to bother too much with the eccentric dress. To each there own, and anyways, he's seen odder things.

"No, I am quite certain I have lost my way." he says, with conviction, and a little half-smile. "Or else my way lost me."

And this will be a certain Queen of Carthage wandering by giving Caspian an odd look.

"I believe I met you before. Only not you. You were rather older at the time." She pauses a moment, thinking about it. "Odd. Do you get that a lot?"

And he will study her a long while. "I am, perhaps, no good with names, but I never forget a face. Forgive me, Fair Lady, but I do not recall. I have been told I resemble my father. Perhaps, Lady, you have met him...?"

He doubts this, of course, but he certainly doesn't know what she means.

"Dido." She bows slightly to him, smiling curiously. "Queen of Carthage. I met a Caspian, I couldn't say which one."

"At your service, Your Majesty." Caspian says and he studies her. "Pray, how did Your Majesty know the name which graces me? I, Ladyship, am Caspian X, son of the noble Caspian IX."

"I daresay that it is not impossible for you to have known one of us, especially when you know already the family name..."

"Nobody knows where this is exactly. It's not my home, and apparently not yours either." Then as if he remembers to be polite a bit late, he nods though not smiles. "I'm Gwendal von Walde, lately from Shin Makoku."

"How very strange." And secretly he is wondering if he has arrived here in much the same way that the Pevensies arrive in Narnia.

And Caspian bows, politely. "A pleasure; I am Caspian X, King of Narnia."

Narnia. Where have you been. *amused smile* It's Peter when the greetings are said and done. It's "Your Majesty" until then. *...grins, slowly* I have met your Lady.
