Their entrance won't be an obvious one. They're small and they're quiet, and so they blend into the background rather easily. There's two of them, which is the only reason they might be seen at all. A boy and a girl, but they're not twins-- the boy is younger, smaller, more frail

Jackrabbit, wth his long limbs and gentle smile, has an affinity for children.

"What are you doing, children? With lovely faces such as these, there should be accompanied smiles?"

Astor is usually the one to answer questions. In this case, though, before she can, Cody looks up. He is a very grim little boy.

"Why?"

"It would please me and many others, I believe."

In Jackrabbits time, children are well cared for, and people are never allowed to mother if they arent deemed fit. So this is foreign to him.

"I'm Helena. Everyone calls me Jess though." She frowns some, trying to be comforting. "Are you two all right?"

"Jess isn't short for Helena." Astor pauses. "Is it?" Then she glances at her brother.

"No," he whispers, and it's impossible to tell whose question he's answering.

Dexter blinks, once. And then he kneels down to their level.

"Astor." Turning towards the other one. "Cody. What are you two doing here?"

[muchtooquiet]

"It's raining outside," answers Astor, and to true to her word, her slicker is wet.

Cody's voice is very soft, but it accompanies a rare smile. A very rare smile. "Hi."

[aneatmonster]

Dexter smiles back. "Is your mother here with you?"

[muchtooquiet]

"No," says Astor. "Is she here with you?"

And Harry looks at the two and rather instictively knows that these are the kids that Dexter was referring to. He's seen it before. "Hi there."

Cody studies him for a moment, his expression unreadable. Then he looks at his sister.

"Who are you?" she asks.

"I'm Harry." He pauses. "I'm Dexter's dad."

The two look at eachother. Cody almost smiles.

Astor again. "Dexter's going to marry Mom."

Francine is thrilled to see children so close to her age, and she bounces over to them with a bright grin and an enthusiasm that they might find overwhelming. "Hi! I'm Francine!"

"I'm Astor," sayd Astor again, without any of Francine's excitement. "This is Cody."

"Did you just get here? I've been here a long time. I can show you around if you want!" She beams, always happy to meet and help out new people.
