Not really another Arthurian.

Here's a girl of about twenty, to all appearances; slight, pretty, with large soft eyes and long soft hair in a loose braid. She's dressed in what is very clearly a modern interpretation of medieval finery -- deep jade-green, flowing but flattering, and wrinkle-proof, thank you ( Read more... )

"Hello," Ari says, voice pitched low.

The girl starts slightly, and gives her a little reflexive bow. "I'm sorry," politely. "I think I must be lost."

"Very probably," Ari says, noting the bow in the way a person notes something when it's been absent for a long while. "Most of us are. Don't worry - it's not your fault."

A blank look. And behind it, something closer to sharp appraisal. "Yes," she says mildly. "But I should get back. My lady will wonder."

"Hey." The emo bird-kid gives his usual greeting to the girl, who's obviously new.

And he remembers what it's like to be new in this place. "Looking for someone? Most people here have someone waiting already, I'll help you look if you want. Not that I really know anyone."

She gives him that noncommittal look -- she's used to strange-looking people by now, but not so much to offers of help, and she doesn't yet realize that she's new. "If you've seen my lady, sir. I thought she was with me, but I don't see her."

Strange doesn't even begin to cover Fang. Dark chunk of hair over his eyes, olive skin, black clothes and, oh yeah, hawk-plumed wings on his back kind of set him a part.

Just a little.

"Well what does she look like, I'll give you a hand."

Fortunately, where Elaine's been, wings are the least of alarming attributes. "Lady Dela? Like me, but smaller," holding up a hand. "Pale hair. Some older..." Quite a lot older, but of course it doesn't show.

Mod: Psst. What tag do you want? "Elaine" is already taken, so I was just wondering what alternate tag I should give her.

Er-- cherryh!elaine, probably? ^^ Sorry for the hassle.

No problem! I just didn't want to give her some insane tag that nobody else could remember.

Jackrabbit spies a person quite attractive to the eye. He approaches, smiling.

"Person seems as lost as I. This is not the home of your residence?"

Elaine blinks, and smiles back, easy courtesy. "Not exactly. We-- I live by the lake, most times."

"Fasure it must be some sort of time travel.A Pillowfriend of mine perhaps knows more than I...It seems your dialect is not what I recognize either." He bows to her. "Jackrabbit."

"I don't think so. Time just goes strangely here..." And returns the bow. "Elaine."

"We do have a Lance," dryly, "but why you'd want him is beyond me. Hi."

Her eyes widen. "Modred? What are you doing-- when did you come down? Is lady Dela--"

Mordred blinks. It's been a while since he's heard that inflection, and-- "Please don't tell me I'm supposed to know you, too."
