A woman sits at the base of the staircase, knees pulled into her chest with her arms rested upon them, chin upon that as she stares at the nothingness beyond the walls, numb and utterly alone.
Her husband has left, and taken her children with him. There is no where to go, nothing to do, no one to talk with and no shoulder to lean on.

Most would move away from a stranger who had just kissed their cheek. Most would find it strange and uncomfortable. But no... the situtation is not awkward in the least, surprisingly.
Without saying a word she rests her head against the stranger in a motion of trust and comfort.

Safe... what a good feeling. Safe would not bring her children or husband back. But safe would take her mind away from the alcohol she found herself craving, away from thoughts of suicide (which this time, luckily, were merely thoughts the woman knew she wouldn't act on. Sober, she could see how wrong her actions had been all that time ago. But that didn't stop her from half wishing she had stayed dead).
After a while, she speaks. "I'm not a bad person. I... I pushed him too hard. And even when I offered to let it go forever he still left..."
