Look! It's a doctor!

*having gathered what medical supplies he could find, Joe has set up a makeshift treatment center and, arms full of bandages, announces;*

I can't help noticing the mansion seems to have exploded, and that kind of thing usually doesn't happen without a few people getting hurt. If you need help, you can come to me. Any other doctors around here, if ( Read more... )

I'm here to offer my services as well. These circumstances certainly remind me more of Afghanistan than any I had hoped to see again.

Thank you. Looks like there's going to be a lot to do.

*would he mind a slightly battered Mary? she's not hurt, just awfully sooty and rather dishevelled, with her hair all down and her dress a little torn* James!

Mary! *takes one look at her and rushes over* Are you injured? Let me look at you.

*hasn't found Arthur yet, and is starting to panic, thankyouverymuch* Have you seen a guy? He's the same height as me, got his arm in a bandage. He's stupid. I can't find him.

Sorry, but no. If I see him, do you want me to let him know you're looking for him?

Yeah. Yeah. Tell him I want him. Tell him I'm going to kill him.

*would be amused if not for Perry's obvious distress* Who should I tell him is planning his gruesome death?

Hawkeye wanders over, he doesn't really trust doctors, but...

"I ain't no leech, but I've made a bit of a shelter," he gestures behinds him at a lean-to made of rubble and various bits of mansion, "and I figger you're prob'ly more in need of it than I."

After all, injured people can't run from wolves.

Well, there's an idea. *gives a quick, businesslike smile -- grateful, but without much time to elaborate* Thanks. Where is it?

He makes a gesture to be followed. "It's over here." He leads the way to the lean-to, wincing a little at walking over the rubble--it's times like these one needs boots instead of moccasins.

The lean-to (for lack of a better word) is a bit crude but sturdily made. He's used to making these, to protect against the Hurons and the French.

*Joe looks the lean-to over and nods* That's good. Thank you. -- I'll move my supplies over here, if you don't mind. If you see anybody who looks injured, can you send them to me?

*--and for some reason Arthur surfaces here, limping, scratched, and still wearing his glasses even though they're horribly cracked* Do you mind if I sit here? *sits down on the ground, tiredly, before there's an answer; he's not terribly hurt from the explosion, but he's missing the bandage from his arm and the bite wounds have started to bleed rather profusely again*

*gently, but firmly, and without bothering to ask permission, sets about examining Arthur's arm* This doesn't look like anything that would have happened today. Something bite you?

A dog--two dogs. Yesterday. *takes off his glasses with the other hand, because they aren't doing him much good* I fell, twisted up my ankle, and it got opened again. I lost my bandage.

Ouch. -- Which reminds me, I think you might be the one I'm supposed to be on the lookout for. Your husband's looking for you and he's going to kill you. That sound familiar?

Mr. Abernathy might see what looks to be a large black rat bounding towards him; but if he so happens to blink, he will find that there is no rat, but only a young girl. Frantic and a little worse for the wear, perhaps, but a young girl all the same.

"Are you a doctor? There's a man, he's terribly hurt--he might be dying--!"
