A cooking fiasco...

Cho walks into the Mansion, a determined look on her face. In her arms she's carrying a basket full of fresh vegetables and herbs. She disappears into the kitchen and a loud thud can be heard as she drops her load onto a counter

She stumbles upon the smoke as she passes through the Mansion. Waving her hand in front of her nose, she goes in search of the source.

"Merlin's ghost... what -is- that?"

Cho chuckles as she sees the expression on Hermione's face. She coughs a bit more and waves her over, not sure if Hermione can see her through the smoke or not. "Hermione. That... um, that's me. An experiment gone wrong, I guess you could say."

She does see Cho and makes her way over to the kitchen.

"Funny... it smells more like what happens when I try to -cook-... What were you trying to experiment with?"

"Cooking," Cho laughs and shakes her head. "I don't understand it, but the results are perfectly terrible every time I try. So, guess you can't help me in this arena then? Not if the smell reminds you of your own cooking, I suppose."

Susan stumbles into the kitchen, waving the smoke out of her face, coughing delicately. "Umm, hullo, Cho?" She is pleasantly surprised to see her, having always liked her in school, even if they weren't friends. "I can cook, sort of."

Cho crinkles her brow for a moment and stares at the girl. "Hey... Susan, right? Hi!" Her face spreads into a smile as she recognizes her.

"You can cook? Wicked. Because if you can't tell, I really can't." She shakes her head and laughs, pointing at the goop splattered on the walls.

She beams as she realizes that Cho remembers who she is. Susan giggles nervously and takes a spoon from a nearby drawer. "First things first- what are you cooking?"

Cho makes a face and flushes. "Crikey, it's gotta be bad if you can't even tell what it was." Laughing, she shrugs helplessly. "It was my attempt at making soup. Just your normal beef-barley-vegetable type soup."

Are you kidding? Of course I can cook. What kind of soup were you making?

"You can? Brilliant! Well, I was attempting some sort of vegetable beef kind of soup, but it doesn't really matter. My main goal was to make an edible soup. I haven't succeeded as of yet," she laughs.

Then, remembering her manners, she flushes. "I'm sorry, I don't think we've met. I'm Cho." She extends her hand warmly.

*grins and shakes her hand, then gives a small bow* I'm Osric. If you want, I can see what I can do? With you helping, of course.

"Any help you could provide would be a blessing. Maybe I should try cooking without my wand? Only I thought it would make it more efficient, but obviously it doesn't seem to make much of a difference."

*in passing, carrying several shrunken books and coughing*

"Circe, Longbottom's struck again."

Cho overhears Pansy's comment and laughs. "Nope, afraid not."

*fans through the smoke to spot Cho* "Chang," she says, an eyebrow raised. "Failed experiment, I see...more like smell." She wrinkles her nose. "Are you sure Longbottom's not around? Explosions are more up his alley, not a Ravenclaw's."

"Well it was a failed -culinary- experiment, so I suppose I'm given a bit of slack. It's not as if I've ever really had to cook for myself before. Isn't there a take-away place here somewhere?"

"I know how to make rice, but that's about it" he says laughingly "sorry I can't help more!"

"That's okay," Cho joins his laughter. "Rice I can make. Everything else seems to want to explode on me for some reason."

Then cocking her head, she stares at him for a moment. "I'm sorry, we haven't met yet, have we? I'm Cho."

"I don't think so, I'm Yuuri" he says with a grin

"Nice to meet you, Yuuri. And where are you from?"
