"Like a hand?" Sasha calls, bouncing up from the front step to follow the pair.

"Like another dozen legs, I would," the girl wheezes, leaning on her knees to catch her breath. "Saracen, come back here! you half-hatched, obstreperous, rotten chirfugging bird!"

Saracen, if such is the goose's name, settles some yards away and stares at her smugly, only to take off again with a clamor of wings as she dives for him again.

Sasha laughs, and attempts a flanking maneuver, loping off to the right of Saracen.

Saracen swerves, finds Dil tearing after him from the other direction, and zooms between them, hissing.

When small Indian urchins see fleeing poultry? They pursue.

"Thou scoundrel! Thou wilt return to thy lady this instant!"

(And scold.)

The goose makes a derisive goose noise, and speeds past her, a diabolical gleam in his small eye.

Dil runs faster, arms out like a bird herself.

"Having fun?" Kit calls to the goose in the speech, and circles around the edge of the scent garden, hopping onto and down from a planter.

Saracen just laughs a goosey laugh, discordant and full of wicked glee.

"Taking that as a yes!" Kit says, and waves to Mosca, "Is the position of assistant goose wrangler still open?"

"If you got nothin' better to do," pants Mosca with acerbity.

Stargirl is never one to sit out on a merry chase. She sets off into the fray with a great whoop, in a flurry of skirts and ribbons. However, she only seems to leap and twirl in aimless circles rather than actually try and capture the errant goose.

"Head him off!" the girl squawks, flailing an arm at her.

*sets the crocodile on Saracen, and perhaps partially on Mosca, too, since she knows how to hold a grudge*

Mosca, fortunately or unfortunately, is too intent on the chase to notice this immediately, and too deafened now by the shouts of other children to hear the slither in the grass.
