It was a Tuesday. I remember it quite clearly. Now, I can't say for certain how I happened upon the place, but nevertheless there I was. It was a grand place, I likened it right away to Gatsby's place. Large, alive. I don't know how long I stood silent as I tried to gain my ground. I surveyed the room once, twice, thrice, before I closed the door ( Read more... )

It was a woman who greeted me first. A woman in a man's clothing. As she tilted her head at me, I blinked my surprise down. "Not London? Well, perhaps I am still in New York?"

I certainly hoped this was still New York...

Typist: Yes. He shall be narrating everything.

"'Ve never been to New York, but I don't think it's there, either. I mean, there'd be a lot more Americans around, wouldn't there?" Nan smiles and rakes a hand through her short hair, looking amused. "'N I haven't seen any of them yet, except you."

She looked as if something was funny. Perhaps it was me. Perhaps I had just said something dumb, and she saw it. I was at a loss, what was there really to say when I had no idea what was going on.

This wasn't London, and it wasn't likely to be New York either.

"...No Americans? So this is Europe?"

She was a sight for sore eyes. Daisy Buchanan, my second cousin once removed. She was just as lovely as ever, and her smile lit up the room. All at once she had all but attacked me, and I wrapped my arms about her, awkwardly.

"Daisy. You're here as well?"

She continues smiling and hugs him back, happy to finally see someone she knows. "Well, of course I'm here, dear!"

Percy is a horrid social little creature, so he's here immediately--because of the present influx of raspberries, he's decided to greet people with a welcoming gift. "Hullo there! You know, I don't think anybody knows exactly where we are, but it's nice. I don't guess you'd like some summer raspberries? I grow them."

"Good evening, Monsiuer Nick." Replied a man's voice. He was leaning up against a near by wall in front of the mansion, his voice hinted with the taste of a french man's accent and when he spoke, it made his accent purr like some kind of wild cat. It was quite pleasant to hear but there was also something terribly unnerving about this man and the aura of sensuality he carried. He was beautiful in a way that was a lot like a mosiac painting, his skin of almost marble hue and his lips a very bright red, his whole visage complete with a long curtain of black curls. "It is indeed a pleasure." He bowed his head, but didn't move from the wall.

I wish I could tell you, sir. It doesn't seem to be any sort of place, or time.
