Hello there, sweetness. Thornfield? I've never heard of it.

I'm usually not called sweet by those who know me, sir. *curtsies again* It is a mansion, sir -- it is not near? I did not think I'd left it so far behind.

*grins* Well, I don't know you, do I? Yeah, the only mansion around here is the big one, and trust me, wherever you came from, you're not in Kansas any more.

True, sir. I have told you my name but have yet to know yours. *looks thoughtful* Indeed? I must confess to being entirely unsure of where I am, then. Where is Kansas?

Bonsoir, Mlle. Eyre. Welcome to our community. I'm Armand St. Just. You seem puzzled. I've never been to Thornfield but it is in England, yes? My sister and brother-in-law live at Blakeney Manor near Richmond.

Merci, M. St. Just. *fluent in French, yay, so smiles faintly* Yes, Thornfield is in England, but I appear to have found myself someplace entirely different.

Oh yes, here is very different. It seems like England though.

I hope... I hope you find everything you need here.

*seems a bit nervous but it has NOTHING to do with Jane*

*nods* I see. Thank you very much for your kindness. *and tilts her head slightly -- the gesture's curious, as she's a very observant girl, but not prying*

*is stunned for a moment, but recovers before anyone can notice*

Miss Eyre! And what explaination do you have for such a long and unannounced absence while your pupil is running about derelict from any work?

Oh, sir -- ! *startled briefly, then drops into a quick cursty before standing and facing him levelly* I wasn't aware I was expected here, nor was I aware I had wandered so far from Thornfield. * -- note the distinct lack of apology contained there*

*keeping his usual brusque manners though he is glad to see her* Perhaps in the future you would at least be good enough to give me some sort of notice that you are planning to disappear. *what forshadowing?* I am not employing you to go galavanting all about the English countryside while Adèle is left to her own devices.

I suppose I should also inform you that you are no longer the only other tenant at Thornfield, so do try to keep your pupil under some degree of restrain when it comes to explorations of the house.

Perhaps in the future, sir, someone else will see fit to give me notice when I lose Thornfield and find myself in a place such as this. Then I will certainly inform you as well.

*slight blink* If I may be so bold as to ask, sir, who else is staying at Thornfield?

She smiles back warmly. We are all rather lost, it seems, damisela. It is hardly my place to welcome you here, but I do hope you find it agreeable.

*nods* So I have heard. I do hope I will one day find a way back to Thornfield, but until then I shall do what I can to enjoy myself. *smiles slightly* I've not heard your name, miss?

*curtsies and smiles warmly* Good day, Miss Eyre. My name is Jane Bennet - there, we share a name! But I cannot tell you how to get to Thornfield - even if I knew where it were, I cannot even say how to reach my own home. We all seem to have got lost here. But it is not too bad a place!

*gives a smile in return, for she seems friendly* A pleasure, Miss Bennet. *looks thoughtful and slightly concerned* Lost, you say? This is news indeed, though whether good or bad I cannot immediately say. You say this is not a bad place, yet it still grieves me to leave Thornfield so unexpectedly.
