Oh, sir -- ! *startled briefly, then drops into a quick cursty before standing and facing him levelly* I wasn't aware I was expected here, nor was I aware I had wandered so far from Thornfield. * -- note the distinct lack of apology contained there*

*keeping his usual brusque manners though he is glad to see her* Perhaps in the future you would at least be good enough to give me some sort of notice that you are planning to disappear. *what forshadowing?* I am not employing you to go galavanting all about the English countryside while Adèle is left to her own devices.

I suppose I should also inform you that you are no longer the only other tenant at Thornfield, so do try to keep your pupil under some degree of restrain when it comes to explorations of the house.
