To discuss our typists a bit more...

Apr 02, 2005 14:27

This may have come up before I arrived, but I've recently been forced to suffer through some of the most ridiculous "music" I have ever heard and therefore was wondering what you lot have had to put up with. My typist just got through listening to a "musical" entitled "Batboy." As far as I can tell, it has something to do with a deformed bat- ( Read more... )

I find my typist's music most atrocious. Besides the fact one can hardly dance to it, the singers all seem to completely lack talent. I cannot even bring myself to enjoy her Phantom of the Opera music, for she informs me that there is both a musical and a movie to which she has the music, and I'm not in either.

My typist hasn't any Beetles, either. She does have the Roaches of the Afterlife, though.

The Roaches of the Afterlife are on an album?

(Wait. My typist just informed me she has them on at least a dozen different versions. Dear Lord... Apparently she doesn't have most of them where she is living now, though.)

Apparently they are. My typist informs me that she is most jealous of your typist-- she has but two, and one is not with her. I'm puzzled as to why anyone would want any.

(Typist: I must ask- did you draw your icon? It's quite pretty.)

I don't know. I should make my typist let me listen to one of hers, to see for myself. Most of hers are a result of illegal copying, she says, but she has apparently spent quite a bit of money on buying recordings here and there, too, once upon a time.

(Typist: No, I can't draw anything... The picture is by a talented fan artist whose website is at artdungeon.net - I think this picture is under "Doodles". Thanks! I like it a lot, too.)

Mine seems very diverse... but I've only ever had to listen to piano pieces... Chopin, Liszt, Beethoven. I do wish she would listen to something from this century sometimes...

I would be more than happy to trade typists at the moment. Mine is currently listening to some group called "The New Pornographers" (what a horrid name) and, while it is actually preferably to some things I've been introduced to recently, I would give a great deal to hear something calm right about now.

*convinces typist to send some Pachelbel*

I can't BELIEVE I was just NICE to a Slytherin! It's a sure sign of Armageddon!

*would be most appreciative*

And I'm honestly getting along with a Gryffindor. It really is rather disturbing, isn't it.

My typist has turned me on to a lot of music (specifically music from showtunes), but she drives me up a wall the well when she plays The Roaches of the Afterlife singing. Do you know just how irritating it is to hear her singing along with a caterwauling Roach about being on her own?! ARGH!

Though, I must admit, she redeems herself by having music from some of mine and Samara's movies (which are, of course, totally wrong for the most part), which is definately a plus.

I would understand perfectly, if it weren't for the fact that my typist's copy of the singing roaches is damaged (which she is rather bitter about).

My typist would also like to say that your comic and movies gave her nightmares but...apparently she...loves them anyway.

My slave typist has a cure for that. She has multiple copies. It's terribly sad, actually, knowing that she wastes her money on it.

That seems like it a rather common thing that goes around even though my typist claims that I am tamer than Samara, since my victims don't turn out so 'f'ing scary' as she put it. But thank you to your typist even though the movies and the manga are wrong for the most part.

I don't listen to music unless I am singing it myself. My typist, however, constantly listens to music. She has the most random taste in music I have ever seen. From something called "AFI" to "Flogging Molly" (why would anyone name a band after beating up some poor woman? She seems to like them though. A lot. Too much.) to some beetles (I had no idea insects could sing) to Christian music (which I believe is something like Unionism) to Broadway musicals (most notably my own). Right now she's listening to something called "Little Shop of Horrors"... a song about someone called a "dentist"

She's such an odd one.

Mine says that she is rather fond of "Flogging Molly" as well. (I've pointed out to her exactly how horrible that sounds, but she simply laughed.) Actually, looking at your list, our typists appear to have rather similar musical tastes.

My typist adores them. She went to a concert of theirs for the first time this past October and now loves them even more. She wants to share some pointless story about how a random man accosted her while she was wearing a Flogging Molly shirt, thinking that she was glorifying physical abuse, but I've silenced her. She's also squealing something to the effect of "OMG ASK HIM WHAT ELSE SHE LIKES!!!!!" Music seems to be one of her favorite conversation topics. From what I've managed to understand, she enjoys pretty much everything but crap though she concedes that "Eminem" is decent. Especially when she's in a bad mood, although she insists that AFI is infinitely better for bad moods. You're going to regret getting her started.

Oh dear. My typist says "A little bit of everything!" She has, just a moment ago, turned on "The Killers." Honestly, some of these names really make me wonder. "The Sex Pistols"? She also lists her concerts attended as Chicago, Hall & Oates, Moby, David Bowie, KISS and Placebo. And now she's gone off on a tangent about how someone named Brian Molko teases the audience but it's apparently okay because it was her birthday and the bouncer gave her a used drum stick after the show? Right. As if she didn't confuse me enough already.

Thankfully, my long-hand writer enjoys classical musical. What else she listens to I do not inquire after. I find it best not to.

That is likely the most intelligent choice. My typist enjoys classical music, but she hasn't wanted to listen to it recently.

A pity to say the least.
