*bows gallantly, holding his 'helmet' to keep it from slipping over his eyes*

Don Quixote de La Mancha is come to right all wrongs, and save the innocent from dire peril! Any maiden who is in trouble. Any flowerpot that is oppressed. Any village that is in the grip of a rancid dragon. I will save the day and bring good and peace once more!

Where?! *draws celery stick and starts attacking the nearest wardrobe* Take that, o demon of the night!

*momentarily taken aback* ...Over the hills, soldier! Seek him there. And ay, take this. *grabs a book and a handful of pens* A shield, m'lord, and thy swords, enchanted and annoited.

*takes the pen and books reverently* Sir, your kindness to a knight errant shall be remembered. These swords will serve me faithfully as I rid the land of pestilence. And the sword will protect me from the evil sorceror. *waves a pen, and sees ink fly across the room* Why, a mighty arm! It will do well!

*freezes in his tracks* My lady Dulcinea. You are here! Oh, fairest maiden to ever set foot on ancestral timber! Tell me your desires, and I shall be your slave to command.

My Lord, I am just happy to see you again. *smiles*

Oh, Lady, your happiness is like wine to an oyster, like pearls to a sot. Tell me, most wondrous Dulcinea... Would you grant me a token, that I might carry it into battle?

*grins* Oh, excellent. To the only good thing to come out of Spain! *laughs and salutes*

Good leprechaun, fear not for your gold. I ask you only to point me to the nearest battle. I have been told of a wizard, but cannot find him anywhere, and if there is a battle, he is bound to be there.

*very, very amused* Ah, yes, the wizards. Well, I stay out of their way mostly, myself, but from what I gather you're right. There's some sort of evil dark wizard giving everyone trouble, and much of the community is fighting against him. *pauses and grins* Ask the elves.

The elves! Why of course. Thank you, little leprechaun! Get ye back now to your prancing and your singing, and of course your guarding of your gold. *conspiratorially* There are madmen around here.

'Lo, M'sieur. Do you think, oh, possibly.. that you could save me from a second death? I would be very grateful. 'M good at paying people back, too.

A pleasure to make your acquantaince, nevertheless. Alexandre Joly, at your service.

A travelling merchant, seeking escort through the perilous mountains for himself and his precious load! Why, certainly, sir. The bandits of Rousbanda will not attack a merchant under my protection. I swear thee this now!

Oh, no, not a merchant by any means. But.. thank you, I do suppose.

It is my duty, good merchant, and I perform it with zeal, as befits a night errant who has been armed by Camel himself.

An elf! Oh, little one of Christmas cheer, tell me now, and you may pass me by this winter. Where lie the wizards who I must battle outrageously?

permanent_blur August 3 2005, 22:56:36 UTC
*bemused little smile* well, i don't know about outrageously -- there lots of wizards about, i suppose, but some of them are very nice. and the ones that aren't, i ... ignore, mostly.

Nice wizards? Too many years of painting toys has affected your vision, little elf. Those are but sunflowers, and though magical they seem, they are not wizards.
