A hawk circles down, barely visible against the bright sun, and glides toward a tree, and suddenly a naked, dark young man with tightly curled black hair is perched on a branch.
*tilts his head, bird-like, to study the people*
Many of you. *smiles vaguely* Hello.
Mun: Horus, from American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Nice boy, but quite mad.

Hawk, noun. *recites, stiffly, the dictionary definition* Middle English hauk, from the Old English hafoc. See kap- in Indo-European Roots. Any of various birds of prey of the order Falconiformes -- especially of the genera Accipiter, and Buteo -- characteristically having a short hooked bill and strong claws, adapted for seizing. The same sort of short hooked bill and strong claws, no doubt, that at the right angle, and with the right force, could quite easily tear through skin, quite effortlessly rip through flesh, quite efficiently pick its prey apart and asunder ... feeding, clawing, pecking, pecking ... peckingpeckingpecking.
OhGod. *laughs a giddy, nervous sort of laugh, and then ducks and hides behind his rock, chain shaking*
