How could someone so pretty be bored?

Not working. *grins* I don't have much of a social life anymore.

I think I'm having a crisis.

*pulls pen out from behind her ear*

What kind of crisis?

I'm rather lacking in having the experience of having grown up.

... It's a difficult problem, that.

The best thing I can think of, for now, is to try your best to emulate others around you. But not by acting exactly like them.

*remembers the 'I am yourself' fiasco*

Mademoiselle, I am afraid I never did manage to do much work, between being cursed by evil wizards and being dead. Perhaps we could set a schedule?

*sighs*

I am terribly ashamed of myself.

... It's perfectly understandable considering the circumstances, I promise.

Being a bookkeeper, though, isn't a constantly demanding job. Anytime you've time to file and copy, just let me know.

*offers key to the office* Just in case.

*looks at the keys* I hope the evil wizards have no interest in your records then. *bows* Merci for your graciousness, mademoiselle. *takes them*

I don't think they would. Only sort of people I have records on are certainly not going to be useful to wizards. Unless Pilot's omniscience is a possible issue, but I doubt it.

Unless you have any advice for one who is in dire need of a profession, I do not suppose I particularly need to talk -- birds will still sing, babies will still cry for their mothers, and life will go on.

However, I should be delighted to talk to you, Comrade DeQuincy, if I am not taking time away from needy gents whose very existence hinges upon speaking with you.

Have you tried the classifieds? Always the best place to go for jobs first. Especially if you have qualifications, and someone's put in an ad for qualified people. It can be hard to find qualified people.

Feel free to call me Katherine, please.

Oh, I have plenty of qualifications. I had thought of posting an advertisement, but papers are awfully hard to come by here.

If it pleases you, I will break my usual mode of address, Katherine.

Well, I've got plenty of access to newspapers --

Tell me then, sir, what qualifications would these be?

*sleepily* ... except a memory of the smell of smoke and the presumption that once our eyes watered ... *yawns, blinks* ... oh. wait. never mind.
