Question for all the music apreciative

I am curious as to what everyone here thinks of "modern" music?

I am having some problem with one of my headmates who currently has an addiction to Rammstein and her favourite song, Dalai Lama, is one about a plane crash (though I do have to agree slightly with her assement that her second favourite, Reise Reise almost fits with the fanfic it has

Modern music, hmm? My typist tends to favour classic rock and show tunes, so I can't say much about modern music. Though I do think most of it's alright. I'm leaning towards the 'alternative' style of rock, I believe it's called. They generally have songs I can appreciate nicely, even through a drunken haze.
