*gently* I'm a doctor. I'll do what I can, and ask no recompense.

Well, there's the terrible pity o' it, M'sieur! She's back in Paris, as I tol' the gen'leman up earlier, and there's no way ter take a doctor from 'ere to there. Th' only thing ter do is bring back a bit o' something as to pay off our own hard-'earted feller.

I work at a museum. I'm always out of money.

I do have quite a bit to spare, having been blessed myself in financial respects, and would certainly not have any difficutly in helping someone in need.

However, I have reason to suspect that you are not being altogether truthful, good sir. Might I meet this wife of yours at some point?

God bless yer, M'sieur! A special place in 'eaven ye'd deserve for a kindness o' that sort! *crosses himself badly*

Why, 'ow can yer say such a thing? My poor wife's back in Paris, a-pining and fadin' away with 'er sickness, and there ain't a thing ter do about it. Ifn ye can spare a bit o' yer wealth, M'sieur, to 'elp a poor man in trouble, I might bring 'er in ter meet yer when she's well ag'in.

*Laughs slightly.*
Nonsense, man. She is quite obviously well. And she'll be just as well where you to bring her to meet me after I gave you money.
Not only that, but with the funds you've already collected, you certainly have enough to get her a doctor.

Come, now. Don't insult my intelligence.

Bienvenue, monsieur.

*thinks it a bit unfair that he has to wear a mask while a man this ugly doesn't*

Regards,

I'm afraid I haven't any money, or I'd lend it to you in a moment. It's cruel, how the poor are left to wither away without care of a doctor and the people who could change it don't bother doing anything--

*peers around at others*

. . . Wait. Am I missing something, here?
