Hello, everyone. I'm Emmeline Grangerford. Mr. Mark Twain put some of my poetry in "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn." I've been less artistically active since I died, but now that I've found a typist I'm looking forward to writing some more ( Read more... )

Thank you, M. Courfeyrac! I wasn't aware that my poems had spread *that* far! It's rather dizzying.

No, I have never written an elegy for myself. The idea just feels rather... awkward, to me. Almost immodest, in a way. My typist wrote something, though.

oh, well! that is interesting -- can you write something for us, then? i don't much mind one way or another, death being death and sometimes DEATH and all of that, but my friend was saying something to the effect that ours lacked poetry. and here you are! well :D

Are you The Rosencrantz? From Hamlet? Well, whether you are or not, it is an honor to meet you, sir. I will certainly do my best for you and your friend.

i'm a rosencrantz, perhaps, if i'm not a guildenstern -- though i won't discriminate at all. i'd never have thought, that someone'd be honored to meet us!

either of us, that is. thank you! ^_^

'Human tragedy', you say? *raises eyebrow* My typist has showed me some of these elegies of yours. They certainly are... interesting. Welcome, miss. *smiles and bows*

[typist] Seconding Courfeyrac's typist - bloody brilliant! [/typist]

Oh, dear. What *did* your typist show you? Some of the "Tributes" that I wrote when I was thirteen are a bit embarassing in retrospect, but my parents saved everything. Well, almost everything. My rough draft of "The Slave Mother's Lament" has apparently disappeared off the face of the earth.

Thank you for the welcome, Mr. Kennedy. My typist quite admires you.

Well, she showed me some of your poetry that Mr. Twain was so, er, kind to record, to be entirely accurate.

*grins* Thank you very much. Always glad to discover admierers ;).

You seem very odd. But you are new here like me, so welcome! Sadly I don't know your author, but in India I did not read very much.

I suppose I am rather odd. My typist says I'm morbid. With the feud going on and people getting shot and killed all the time it was hard to keep my mind on cheerful things.

Mr. Twain was more popular in America, I think, so I'm not suprised that you haven't heard of him.
