{Half way through}

Jun 24, 2009 21:31

In the common room, Aredhel is sitting and sowing something, quietly.  She has been working on getting baby things ready - she is only halfway through her 12-months pregnancy, but her belly is heavily visible, round and protruding through her dress like a well-done little bun.

She smiles to herself, sings, softly.  There is something in her heart ( Read more... )

Say no more! Husband has arrived!

Rubbing his forehead, looking tense, and tired, and kind of borderline unhappy, but he brightens a bit on seeing her. "Irisse," with relief, and he comes over to drop into a chair next to her.

She looks up, and is immediately worried. Her work is set to the side, and she reaches to take his hand.

"Melindo? What ails you?"

"I just...had an exhausting conversation with Dior's boys." A little heavily, giving her hand a squeeze. "Nothing serious."

Here's one deerlike lady wandering through looking distressed and a little dishevelled. She looks around the room once, sighs, and then goes to sit across from Aredhel. "Have you seen Moryo? I can't find him anywhere."

"Faraday..." She sits up, sighs a little. "Come now, sit with me."

She pats the seat next to her, gently. "There is something I should tell you."

Faraday looks immediately worried, and sits, swiftly, with a breathed, "Oh no," Because she expects the worst.

Fingon hasn't seen his sister in a long time. In a good mood, he wanders over and slips his hands over her eyes. "Guess who."

We did say a good mood. It's rare, for him.

She laughs, a little. "... Kano?"

"Am I so obvious?" He kisses her hair lightly and goes to sit beside her. "I hope I'm not interrupting too terribly."

She smiles, and leans against her brother, a little. "Oh, I was having the most fascinating conversation. With myself."

No, she's happy to see him, and it's visible.

Shuffling down into the room, Tres happily cooing on her hip holding his bottle in tiny little fists, Bella smiles brightly at the pregnant woman and waves with her free hand.

"Hello, there!"

Irisse inclines her head politely. "Good afternoon," she replies, guarded, a little - it is mostly due to the fact that one does not address the High King's sister in such a cavalier fashion, and that, simply enough, 'Hello there' isn't quite in her vocabulary.

She isn't aggressive in the least, though. Only very decorous, as is required both of her station and of her education.

Atani are so strange.

Jaime is wandering around. He does that. It's a skill. Hey! Everyone's good at something, and Jaime's skills happen to be sleeping with his sister, getting his hand cut off, and wandering around. Luckily, only one of these skills are currently needed.

He's currently carrying a sword. Currently, his skill is not using it. Currently, he's changing that. This can be seen in the awkward turtle way he's holding the thing in his left hand.

Seeing the happily pregnant woman being both happy (!) and pregnant (!!!)-- a rarity in Westeros, where you're as likely to die at your wedding as in a fight-- he looks somewhat less grim. Jaime hates training, hates being reminded of his deficiency with the sword since he lost his hand.

So he lingers in the common room, happy to be near a happy person for a while.

We seriously hope for Jaime that getting his hand cut off will not be required a second time - though of course, that would probably put a permanent end that skill's reason to exist, barring Mansion interference.

Aredhel certainly notices the one-handed swordsman, and the vision reminds her powerfully of Maitimo. Here, a disgression about her frienship with her oldest half-cousin probably would be helpful: she adores Maedhros in just about every way, and has missed him a great deal in the past six months.

She does notice the lingering (is it some sort of interest?) - and without looking up from her work, with a smile that is visibly amused, she says, "Good sir, if you had a mind to greet the lady, doing so would not be terribly out of place, I assure you."

She's in a good mood - and that always means teasing will come forth.

Jaime has expressed similar desires one time or another, and this is reason 45,425 why he misses Ser Ilyn Payne, best sparing partner ever.

Because Jaime is a master of composure, he coughs loudly in surprise (it masks far less dignified noises, like, say, a squeak), and sheaths his sword. He dips his head in a light bow.

"You must excuse me, my lady; out of all my siblings, I recieved the fewest manners as blessing." Which is true, but only just, and most often because he is frequently too lazy to be interested in ceremony. "Ser Jaime Lannister." And as always, he waits for the curse of 'kingslayer' to echo into the room.

She does not stand quickly, but she makes the effort, and gives him a charming, very polite head incline.

"Lady Aredhel Ar-Feinel, daughter of Fingolfin, Ser." Her hand gestures to the couch as an invitation. "Do you wish to sit?"
