Agent Aloysius X. L. Pendergast stands on the grass in front of the mansion, staring up at it with a serenly calm expression. His pale grey eyes show no surprise, and his usual black suit stands in even greater contrast to his pale hair and skin under the bright sunlight. He adjusts the cuffs of his suit jacket, saying simply, "Ah."

Sam Spade is on the porch, smoking a cigarette. He chuckles, and says, "Damn right, 'ah.' Place's kinda pretty, though, if you squint."

"It reminds me of some of the older plantation houses, though this appears to be much grander and lacking in cotton fields. It does have its own kind of elegance about it. 'Pretty', as you say."

Pendergast clasps his hands behind his back, regarding Spade with a curious eye. "Which begs the question of its, and our, location."

"That is indeed the question," he agrees, and takes a drag. "I've compiled a list of places it ain't, if that helps much."

[pandora_antioch]

Assuming this is shortly after sunset if that's okay with our fellow typist, Pandora will look up from her meditation.

"I suppose a welcome back is in order," she says, sedately.

Though a comment was made about bright sunlight in the post, after sunset is acceptable.

Pendergast raises an eyebrow in question. "That implies that I've been here before."

"Most folk who arrive here are usually more expressive," she replies, as if it were justification enough.

Aaaarg, apologies.

"An eloquent response to something otherwise surprising," Cyrano replies with a dry chuckle.

He has a bag and a fishing cane thrown over his shoulder, and is on his way out, actually.

"Thank you, sir," is the equally dry reply. "Could you tell me where I've arrived?"

"This would be the Mansion," Cyrano replies, almost apologetically. "And I do daresay, the most insane rendez-vous I have ever had."
