Sam Spade is not only around, he's probably noticeably around, much more so than is normal. Spade had long ago learned that meddling in mysteries in the Mansion was as effective as slamming his head against a wall. Repeatedly. Still, Anita'd asked him to look into it, and maybe five millionth time would be a charm

Firekeeper can be helpful! And is in the kitchen, crosslegged on the floor, plucking a bird and looking a bit of a mess. She probably caught it herself.

She's quite relaxed, though, in a good mood.

He might just notice Firekeeper's eyes go innocently blank. A trick she learned with her pack, really, so she couldn't be blamed for things. "What about it?"

"Well, I was hoping to talk a bit about the time she's missing. Unless you object."

"I don't object."

[mancalledspade]

"Well. She said she was chatting with you the night all hell broke loose with Morgoth."

She tilts her head. "What is 'Morgoth?'"

He shakes his head. "Don't quite know myself. Trying to find out."

"Well. I do not know which night that is, then."

[mancalledspade]

"The night a few weeks ago. Rash of murders, violence. All manner of unpleasantness."

She shakes her head a little. "I don't think I caught any of it."

"You remember talking with Anita a few weeks ago, all evening? She said she'd asked you about it."

She considers. "I talk to Anita a lot. She is a good Pack."

[mancalledspade]

He sighs. "Alright."

[ofthewildwolves]

"So yes, I think probably the night you are talking about I was there if 'Nita says I was. I am not good at dates." She makes a face.

He nods. "Okay. Well, have you noticed anything odd? More unusual than regular around here lately?"

Firekeeper frowns. "I do not think so, no. Odd how?"
