His hands behind his back, Louis walks calmly and languidly down a corridor. His head is slightly down, dark hair hiding one side of his face, but his expression is peaceful, if not somber. He doesn't know where he is, but knows, for a fact, that the museum he frequented did not look like this. Yet that was the door he walked through. Perhaps he ( Read more... )

Unfortunately their last run in was not the best, though this Louis will have no memory of it, and since he has not seen him since it is with great shock that Lestat will come across the other vampire.

He knew very well he should not have taken a walk this evening, walks here always tend to make a mess when everything seems to be going so well, and everything was going so well. As it is he can only stare at him and cannot bring himself to move, the regret and disdain evident in his eyes.

Finally he brings himself to whisper the name that he has for so long forced himself to forget. "Louis..."

Typist Note: Lestat was originally pulled from right around the end of TVL just before QotD so he has no knowledge of Akasha and such. Just thought I'd mention it. ^_^

Lestat's appearance was always enough to make Louis smile, if only for a moment -- that understanding, though recent, was genuine. Louis found things to enjoy in Lestat's company, and it had been a little while since he'd seen him. Lestat's stays were so fleeting that he knew to take advantage of them.

They were also random, which makes Louis all the more unsurprised to see him now.

"Lestat." His gaze is only tender, gentle, though the look in Lestat's eyes concerns him. "I am glad to see you."

His look completely turns to one of utter contempt. "How can you say such a terrible thing?"

Louis blinks, his expression of quiet, human surprise, and he isn't sure which to address first -- Lestat's look or his question. "What? Lestat... what do you mean? Has something happened?"

It is one of these nights where Phèdre cannot sleep. The thawing air draws her to the window, and she looks out, thinking, dreaming - of things gone and far off, of events to come, that fill her with dread, of a purpose to achieve.

Soon, she will go to Melisande. Hopefully this time, the traitor's actions will come to an end. Her lover is not in her room, this night - and from her balcony overlooking the lake, she daydreams.

She does not have night vision, but movements catch her eyes, and she observes, squinting. She has never seen nightly creatures out before.

Outside, Louis doesn't stray far from the door. He enjoys the night air, which smells so different than it does in New Orleans -- another indication that he's in another place. But still, Louis doesn't feel too alarmed.

He is aware of Phedre above him, but politely doesn't look. He isn't one to spy on mortals, nor show his preternatural senses. Often, he wishes they weren't there at all.

After a while, Phedre decides that she needs more than just a breath of fresh air on her balcony, and retires inside, though ten minutes later, she escapes the Mansion, to go stand on the porch.

She has been warned many a time of nightly creatures, but she also knows that Kushiel will ever protect her. And so without arrogance (or maybe just a little) she ventures out, wrapped in her dressing gown.

Pandora is not out per say - but should Louis venture closer to the Mansion, he may find her on the porch, looking into the night. She may be waiting for someone, perhaps. Mayhap she is only taking some time for herself. As usual, her face is inscrutable, and her eyes barely skim the top of the trees, lifting up to caress the stars above.

"Eru," she murmurs to herself. "I wonder where you are, old friend."

Her hand moves to a delicate ring on her finger, caressing it without an after thought, as her dreams are cast into the night.

After a while, Louis makes his way to the front of the Mansion from the back -- he'd walked the whole thing, and now is quite lost in his own thoughts. Pandora's presence surprises him, but he never listens for other vampires.

"Pandora." Louis' voice is soft, polite, and almost apologetic. He can tell he's caught her in a private moment.

She turns slowly to look at him. "Louis." Her face edges a very quiet smile. "I did not expect you here," she murmurs, softly. "Have you found what you were looking for?"

A moment gone, Lestat gave her a message for him, and now she wonders, is it still relevant, so long ago it was? Yet she will deliver it, if she feels it is pertinent, still.

Her manners are quiet, serene. Something in her, that was dark and broody, has lifted.

Marius' coldness does not escape Louis, despite his tendency to obliviousness, and his confusion is painfully clear -- as all his emotions tend to be. "Not willfully, no, I found myself here by accident..." Trailing, Louis sighs. There seemed to be little point. Everyone was angry with him tonight.

"Comfort? Marius." Louis pauses, clearly concerned, but he's also puzzled. "If my presence harms him, then of course I will be scarce. But when we last parted, everything was well. I should like to see him."
