"That's true. I don't. Just the one meeting, and I hardly had the chance to take her measure." Still carefully quiet.

"Jaenelle thinks highly of her." Which should be enough.

"I don't know Jaenelle."

[elven_irs]

"She's a bit crazy, but I... kind of like her. Even if she has terrible taste in slippers."

Yeah, he's never letting her live that one down. Ever.

"Pink, furry bunny slippers."

"......I think you lost me," confused.

"She was wearing them that night when we visited."

He searches back through his memory. "When we...?"

He remembers next to nothing of that whole couple weeks. Just blurry nightmares and hazy days.

"...no." Carefully. He tries to avoid admitting that.

"I... see." He sighs. "That explains why you didn't go to say thank you."

"It's not your fault if you don't remember. We'll go visit the girl. It's the least we can do."
