she's cold as ice...

In through the door walks a young woman. She's tall, for a girl, willowy but straight backed, her face stern and proud and cold. Her skin is fair and her hair little darker, almost icy white, her eyes black and hard, something cold and unforgiving in them, even for her youth. Her voice, as she speaks, has an edge to it.

"...no. No, they could not ( Read more... )

The large brindled wolf bitch comes up to her first, boldly investigating the new arrival as her human brother follows her into the room. He's very nearly as pale as Sybel is, though his hair is a little darker. "...Hi. You look like you just got here."

Sybel shows no fear, holding out a hand almost imperiously for the wolf to sniff, and then looks up at Isolf, coolly.

"I have. Are you the wizard who summoned me here?"

"--What?" He's visibly startled, and Viradechtis looks up from sniffing Sybel's hand. She moves away from the young woman to pace around Isolfr's legs as he shakes his head. "No, I don't even know any wizards."

Sybel drops her hands and looks at the wolf. "But to have called her to you, you must have some power."

If Sybel walks in a little more further, she'll come across an interesting scene.

"He did not."

"He did."

"No, that's not what Uncle Daeron said!"

"But Ambarussa was there!"

The two identical blond boys are fighting quite a bit. Have fun, Sybel.

She blinks, a bit, and then frowns, and then says, firmly. "Stop arguing, you two."

The boys both slam their clappers shut, and look up at the feminine voice.

What the hell?

She comes over to them, mouth set in a firm line. "It won't get you anywhere. Don't you have things to occupy yourselves with?"

Hmmm we might suppose Galadriel is uncommonly cheerful as she walks through the common room this morning. She'll look at Sybel, and give her a bright smile.

"Welcome to the Mansion."

Yes, she's in a good mood. We know. It's very odd, verging on disturbing.

Sybel blinks, and then draws herself up. "Are you she, then, who has called me here?"

Galadriel looks back, almost surprised. "I am not. I was called, as every other one here - good or bad." She inclines her head. "I am Galadriel."

She inclines her head in return, a touch of respect, though still bearing herself proudly, and does not offer her name. "Who, then, has called those here?"

Big. Furry. Leopard.

Inside, sitting on a window sill, letting time go by.

Need we say more?

...another one. There must be a wizard here, someplace. However, in the meantime...

Who holds your name, cat?

WTF!!?!!!

"I hold my name. And I'm a leopard. Learn your zoology, woman."

She blinks, startled at the not mindspeech. Even Cyrin can't speak with his mouth.

"...pardon?"

A man with bright red hair at her appraisingly over the top of a book as she attempts to freeze the room with the force of her personality. He visually dismisses her a moment later and apparently returns his attention to his book. His voice is calm and disinterested. "If you're looking for someone, I haven't heard of anyone by those names here."

She frowns. "You haven't heard of Drede?"

"No," he answers without looking up, as he turns a page. "Should I have?"

She doesn't really like that! And frowns, a little. "He is the king of Eldwold," with a touch of impatience.
