Outside on the front porch, in the snow, is a man, dressed startlingly light for the weather and sitting leaning back, muttering irritably about cold and its impact on his instruments. However, should one come out a little later, he's playing a flutelike instrument, every note with the same nuance as a voice and just as beautiful, almost unearthly ( Read more... )

Daeron is just lucky there are little children in this typist's head who are strongly objecting to more violence.

So here's a kid attack, they're very happy to see an Uncle Daeron, and effectively pouncing on him.

"Uncle!!!"

Daeron nearly squawks and does flail a bit before - oh, twins. Kind of smile. "Hello, boys." Pause.

"Should you be outside now?" Kind of frown.

"Oh, it's alright, we're not cold!" They're jumping and hugging his legs. "What are you doing?"

He tucks the flute away. "Just playing a bit."

Daeron finishes the phrase before taking the flute away and looking up, eyebrows lifting. "Something on my face?" Kind of wryly.

"No...I was just listening. It was lovely, by the way. I do hope I'm not intruding..."

A huge brindled wolf comes racing out of the woods, pursued by a laughing young man running after her. She reins in her speed when she sees someone on the porch, Isolfr slowing as well as he catches up to her. They continue toward the mansion at a more reasonable pace, watching Daeron as they approach.

Saeros closes his eyes, listening to his brother play. It's a heartwrenching tune, and Saeros wishes he could do something to make his brother play more cheerful music.

He leans against the porch railing, not saying anything, not wanting to interrupt the music just yet.

Daeron looks up eventually, letting the last note trail out and watching his brother. It's weird, in a lot of ways, having him here - but not bad, really. Just weird. He's not sure yet what to make of it.
