my life is a small thing...(intro)

She feels the cold certainty of the blade across her throat, the pressure making her breathing constrict. Her eyes close, and she prays to the gods that this is as painless as possible, and that the grief her parents suffer is not too much. The blade presses harder, and she gasps a little before it is drawn across her neck, and then...nothing. This ( Read more... )

Cassandra straightens, standing out primarily from her flaming red hair, and shades her eyes, trying to see who the new arrival is.

A moment later she nearly stumbles even standing still. "Gods..." She knows those features. The forehead. Female, and different, but still - she feels sick, suddenly.

Iphigenia sees the strange woman and walks forward cautiously. "...Where...am I?" she asks softly, quite obviously bewildered.

She's tenser than she's been in months, shoulders back and almost a touch of anger in her eyes. She tries to smother it.

"The Mansion," in a voice not quite clipped.

She's confused by the woman's tone--had she angered her in some way? "Oh, oh thank you," she replies, trying to mend any sort of tension in the air. "I--I am Iphigenia, princess of the house of Atreus." She tries to hold herself a little more formally.

The ever comforting Locke Lamora is sprawled on the porch, looking moodily annoyed and eyebrows slightly lifted. "Don't worry, if you were dead you're not anymore." Drawled, in a voice excruciatingly dry.

"Oh...I'm not?" She looks up, a little taken back by his tone. "I--I thought--the blade--" She reaches to her neck again, pressing it, feeling for even a small scar--nothing.

Locke's mouth twitches up a notch at the corner. "Yeah, it probably did. Don't worry, I was dead last week, you get used to it."

Still dry as anything, and giving her a looking over that's not at all sexual, just considering. Figuring out things about her just by watching.

"Oh--oh, my," she breathes, feeling more confused by this odd man. "I--you live here?"

He's known as Rob Fellows in New York, Robin Goodfellow in London, the Puck in Faeland, and Pan, Iphigenia, in your time. Pan who once loved Cassandra as Apollo did, but treated her more gently.

He doesn't have those damn fur chaps, though.

"Welcome to the Mansion, Princess." He speaks in fluent Greek - though maybe with the translators, it doesn't show too much.

"--You...you know who I am." It's a statement, not a question, because she's trying to regain any sort of royal dignity she has in this strange place. "How...how do you know me?"

"Might recall a guy who liked to hang around court with a flute?" He pulls it out of his pocket, plays a tune. "It has been a while, little Princess."

Oh, my. She's shocked, but smiles, because it is Pan after all, and he always was a jovial god, at least.

"I am most honored to make your acquaintance." She curtsies a little, out of respect.

Have a very scary looking man who's not looking altogether cheerful! At least he vanishes the large and imposing warblade before turning to look at her, but everything about him right now screams of a deadly warrior, and a good one. "Lady?"

His voice isn't quite a rumble, but it comes close. Lucivar is not happy.

She starts, frightened by the blade. Don't wave sharp objects around her, Lucivar. "Y-yes?" she squeaks. Oh gods, where was she?

He vanishes it and half fans out his wings, her fear agitating him. "Are you all right?"

Wings?! Who was this creature? "I--I--I don't know how I ended up here," she begins to explain, fiddling with her dress a bit. "I'm supposed to be dead."

Lucivar may not be happy, but Niko on the other hand is quite calm and zen - and he pauses in his carefully executed Kata to say hello.

He is dressed soberly - though he may have pointy objects under his coat, they aren't visible, and his smile is calm as he approaches the girl.

"Are you alright?" He's in his early 20s - and despite his very clean and blond braid, he is clearly of Greek descent.

"I think so?" She looks at him, lost. "I--I'm supposed to be dead. Something must have happened, the gods intervened, perhaps..." She trails off, a little lost in thought.

"Maybe they did. This is a strange place." He's very calm, not cold, though, and gentle. There's a reason Niko leaves a trail of broken hearts in his wake - he's really charming, because it's all genuine.

"My name is Niko Leandros. Let me help you." He offers her a hand, to get up if she still is lying down.

She takes his hand, blushing a bit. "Thank--thank you," she says, brushing her dress clean. "And I am Iphigenia, of the house of Atreus." He has a Greek name--she assumes he'll know what she's talking about.
