He's a little behind--losing about eight years' worth of memories and then getting them back will do that--but Percy has put up a little crooked sign, and anyone who reads and follows it will find him down in the kitchens with about a hundred quart Mason jars, several buckets of produce--tomatoes, shell peas, peaches, corn, peppers, and beets,

Kyllikki can't read his sign, but she will find him in the kitchen nonetheless--if only because she's bringing in her own produce. "Oh!" she says, with rather more feeling than eloquence. None of this was here earlier!

"Hey, there," he says in a friendly tone. "You here for cannin'?"

"For ...?" She looks at what he's doing, and laughs. "Are you storing vegetables in glasses? They will rot--!"

"Nope, they won't. Not if you do it right." He grins.

Steerpike is constantly on kitchen duty anyway, so he'll find it just fine to come and lend a hand.

"Good afternoon," a pause. "Oh, it's you."

He smiles wider.

"Hi!" Percy makes a cheerful face at him, looking up from where he is shelling the last of the peas into their bucket.

"Hi." He comes closer, puts his apron on. "You're teaching Canning and religion? A handy man you are, sir. Mind if I lend you a hand?"

"Sure, hand's always good." The rattle of peas into the bucket has a great sound.

Well of course Gwen will show up, smiling and happy, because she like Percy.

"Good Morning, Sir Peredur."

"Mornin', your majesty."

[sissy_queen]

She comes closer and finds an apron. "What might I do to help, Sir Peredur?"

"I figure on waiting a bit till there's some more folks, but if you don't mind helping me with blanchin' corn--"
