There may be a boat, on the lake, very early this morning.

*Maharet may know nothing about the magic of Galadriel's world, but she recognizes someone powerful when she sees them. With a small smile* Welcome.

[Typist: *has read the Silmarillion, and thus knows that* XD]

*Maharet really does need to ask what Galadriel is, for her own safety, but that can wait a bit.* My nature was...changed, many years ago.

T: Congratulations! (AWESOME) Not everyone manages to get past the multitude of characters and plots. Any chance you'd pick up an Elf, eventually?

Pandora and Maharet really should talk, eventually.

"How so?" Maybe that's what makes Galadriel a bit uneasy.

[Typist: I know, so many people seem to get overwhelmed. I think it's my love of mythology that made it seem so enjoyable and not difficult in the least. And, as for picking up an elf...maybe, but it's just such a huge, overwhelming world, and Arthurian legend is quite enough for me in that regard. ;)

They should. How is Pandora?]

*Speaking slowly, choosing her words carefully to make sesne to Galadriel* An...evil spirit passed into the King and Queen of my land, who were cruel and capricious. It changed their natures, and they spread the curse.

"And so through this curse, you defeat your own mortality." That makes a lot of sense, in fact, when one ponders the Oath of Mandos.

"But that sounds hardly like punishment."

There are...other conditions. *hesitates*

Understandably. Pandora has the same problem.

"Conditions?"

This curse creates a vulnerability to sunlight and...a dependence upon the blood of other human beings.

"You must feed on your own kind?" She's trying very hard not to be repulsed, but it is unsettling.

*she nods* There are those among us who have tried to feed from animals instead, but that is not nearly so effective.

T: Yes, Pandora knows. Maharet should ask her about feeding.

"That is detestable." And yes, she is repulsed, and it may be tinted with compassion if she feels regret from Maharet.

*plainly, undisturbed* It is.

*not angry* What do you expect me to do? Kill myself from the shame of it? No, that is not my way.

"And so you kill your own kind, and feel no remorse for it?"

That's just too close to home, Maharet.

I do not always kill, when I can avoid it. And humans die from so many causes, always have - the death I give them is relatively painless. I make my amends in my own manner.
