~Boy problems

Martha is sitting somewhere, at a table, her notebook open to a blank page, her pencil poised to write or draw something. She wants to perhaps sketch that tree outside, even if she isn't very good at it. She tries scrawling out a leaf, but sighs, clearly distracted by something else ( Read more... )

Moritz smiles a little and touches her shoulder lightly. "Hello, Martha. How are you doing?"

"Do -- do you want to go inside?" He raises his eyebrows a little, feeling awkward again. Though it's almost a perpetual state of being for Moritz.

He pokes his head in -- and frowns. "What the hell? Who folded the blankets? None of us fold the blankets. Who's been in my fort?" Moritz grumbles as he fusses with the blankets, spreading them out again and muttering about people coming into his private space. "Sorry about that. There -- " he tosses the last blanket onto the ground and flops down. "All set."

Martha feels a bit odd, as if she, too, is intruding on his personal space. She feels like a stranger here, though she sits next to him, hugging her knees to her chest and looking around silently.

"And Ilse and I painted the inside," he explains, gesturing to the murals on the walls -- one very beautiful one, of horses in the fields. And one amounting to little aside from random designs, handprints, and paint splatters. Martha isn't intruding -- Moritz invited her, so that makes it okay.

A smile finds its way to her face as she takes in the paintings and she releases and barely audible "Oh."

She looks at him and her smile widens. "They're so very wonderful."
