Different World, Still a Klutz

There is a small *pop*.

And then Bella Swan materializes, standing in the doorway with a very befuddled expression gracing her features. Has she been here before? Maybe. But the place doesn’t seem altogether very familiar. Scuffing her shoes on the floor as she walks, she slides her fingers through her hair to shield her face from being noticed by ( Read more... )

Oh thank someone, Edward was getting ready to do something drastic. Nothing so melodramatic as Italy, but he was getting a little desperate.

He sneaks up behind her and sets a hand on her hip, speaking next to her ear, "You should be more careful where you walk. You could hurt yourself, tripping over something like that."

The Voice. He is here!

Her balance regained, Bella’s heart skips a beat as she whirls around and wraps Edward in a hug. Thank God, of all the people she knew, he found her. Wherever here was; she didn't care.

“Whoops. Sorry,” she mutters into his shoulder.

Edward smiles and wraps his arms around her, kissing her hair softly, "I think I might be able to forgive you. I'm just glad you're here..." And there's another of those pesky human emotions -- relief. Every fibre in his body feels relieved as he holds Bella to him.

Typist: Welcome, lately XD Fancy meeting you here.

When he verbalized her exact feelings, Bella smiles widely, “Wherever here is…”

Pulling her head back, intending to take in her surroundings, she is easily distracted by the vision of his beautiful face. For some reason, the power of his dazzling features never lessens. She blinks. It was so not fair.

Firekeeper drifts in, looking more wolf than human this morning, though at least still on two legs. She tilts her head with a serious expression and examines Bella for several long moments.

Startled, Bella steps back from the approaching half-human and tilts her head to the side. Very unlike Jacob, she decides, but still familiar.

"Hello."

Oh, and by the way, welcome! I hear you're one of Mimi's friends. :D

Firekeeper blinks once, slowly, and seems to decide that Bella is acceptable. "You have a name?" She wants to know.

From her stance at the door, she nods. Without moving foward, for she's still testing the waters, she says, "Bella. Yours?"

Lucivar's head twitches up slightly and he watches her move warily through the hallway from his vantage point sprawled in a chair, and shifts a little, making room for his batlike wings to spread halfway. "Looking for someone?"

"Um..." The presence of this man was overwhelming, and Bella quickly tried to hide her shock, "A friend."

'More than a friend. My fiancee... So weird,' she thought.

Lucivar looks a bit amused, and one shoulder twitches slightly. "Does your friend have a name? It's not very likely I know him, but..." He shrugs.

Him? She never said that Edward was a 'him'... of course he was, but then, she'd never said it aloud. Maybe it was just a lucky guess. Silently, Bella prayed that this man couldn't read minds. She didn't know how immune she was to anyone outside of Edward's world.

"Edward Cullen."

Jaenelle pokes her head out at the crash, and then emerges fully, a quill in one hand and looking rather distracted. "Oh - hello?"

This girl was a seemingly normal enough person. Bella was thrilled, relieved. No monsters after her for dinner... yet.

"Hi!"

Jaenelle looks relieved at the relief. She's a bit too used to having people terrified her. For all the outward normalcy, she's not really that normal at all, though she's not going to chew on anyone. Especially not someone who seems friendly. "I suppose you're new?" She says, almost apologetically.

Bella nods, wordlessly. Yeah, new was kinda the understatement of the year.
