He bears a striking resemblance to Anthony Quinn, though he's much hairier.  Nearly every inch of his olive skin is thick with black hair-it's clearly human, but there is a certain gorilla-like air.  His eyebrows are especially thick.  For all this, he only has short hair atop his head, and only faint stubble for a beard, which exemplifies his .  ( Read more... )

"What is a computer? And a submarine?" he asks, still too new to be used to confusion. He's forgoing armor given the peaceful nature of the place, but still wears a sword, and holds himself as a knight. Too much training to ignore.

Lamorak, on the other hand is half fascinated, half unnerved. "You are an atheist as well as a magician, sir?"

Hagbard laughs in a way that suggests that his sides would be splitting if they weren't so held together. "An Atheist? Gods no! A man would have to be a complete idiot to be an atheist. I deal with Gods all the time. I just won't worship any of them. They're too jealous of everything. They're not any better than us, just because they're so much more powerful. It's all a matter of privilege, really." He nods to Lamorak. "Yours is a very powerful one, of course. I respect that much about him."

And now poor Lamorak is just confused. Luckily, he hasn't hit angry yet. "I...see." He doesn't.

"None, sir, though I cannot approve of either blasphemy or treason, as a rule."

Hagbard beams. "I, on the other hand, live for blasphemy and treason. As a rule. But I don't need your approval-only your, hm, lack of desire to kill me." He smiles earnestly.

"I've killed a great many people, sir, and magicians among the rest. But I haven't decide if you are evil, or only mad."

Hagbard grins that manic grin again. "Mad, most certainly, I assure you."

"...very well." Uneasy, because he's not sure whether he's being played with.

Hagbard is very rarely not playing with people, though it's a rare person who knows that. "No, the opposite of very well. Very mad!"

"It wasn't you I was referring to, sir."

Lamorak uneasily shifts a bit but nods. "Indeed. I bid you good day."

"And a good day back to you. May they be lived out in the service of however many lords you follow." He bows with a clearly mad flourish (he's good at making himself clearly mad). He spins around without rising, but does rise as he walks away.
